got the marimo from leeyung..smaller than i thought it would be
theres fur dropping out from one of the marimo..
but its only a small part of it..hope it will grow back..

dont worry,i know it is in the range..just that it looks much smaller compare to pic..
on top of that,the parcel so big...huge bubble wrap,open up,get so small marimos..

haha,yea,small and cute.i bought 3 nano to try 1st,scare later i buy big big one and duno how to take care and all die then not good.
yea,i mean its like a prank..u got a big present box,open it only to find small things inside..

I put mine in a plastic bottle at the moment.i know they can carry out photosynthesis,but mine only got like a few small bubbles on the marimo but got alot more on the inside surface of the bottle..
duno whether is the bottle or the bubble from marimo went to the bottle..

and the one which got fur drop out,now got another piece of it drop out..mum suggest call it ma-lat-mou, (lat mou=drop fur in cantonese ) and it also suit its original name-marimo. haha..

According to leeyung its normal la,metabolism.i notice theres small small alot smaller fur in the water of the other marimo,i think thats metabolism too.

haha,i like a mixture of big and small ones...but now not much budget for big ones..and 30.. did you buy all of them?or breed them?
I lembut lembut massage them after i received them and then put them into container..no rough rough geh..

okay,if more mou lat chut lei then only i seek help here la.

Btw,mind showing me a pic of the 30 momo zais and momo luis?

By right it should be able to grow as big as you want.since it grows 5mm per year,it might take very long to grow into huge balls.

Do your marimo carry out photosynthesis frequently and have bubbles on it?
Is it daily basis?

Cause mine dont have bubbles edi..last time got a few(less than 10) when i just got them..

As for the water..should i put in pipe water or filtered water?

wow...that looks nice!!

but from what i observed...the so call photosynthesis after washing is actually not more than the air bubbles trapped inside the marimo.
Im sure that everyone might have squished the marimo abit to wash out the old/dirty water..but then when we do that,theres some space/air in it which forms air bubbles when we put them back into the water..

So,im not sure if they still photosynthesis or not..maybe they do,but the oxygen formed as a result from it is too small for our naked eye to spot them..

mine also abit yellowish on the outside...Been like that since the first few days...

hmm...hard for me to keep it cold...im putting my marimo in a bottle at the moment..quite hard for me to keep it below 28 degree..think the only way is to put in fridge or put ice cubes into the bottle...

cz some fridge inside got light eventho you closed the fridge door..while other fridge dun have light once you close the fridge door..

Haiz,my marimo a little brownish on the out side edi...not dark green at all..i thought is normal cz when i got it,its like that edi...

then how come they dont pearl/photosynthesis at all for mine?

my marimo have been in the fridge every day from 12-6 in the afternoon..
then i take out to put it under the lights.

i have 2 marimo,one of it i think dying...
both the color is not dark green..one of it abit light green and another not so healthy one is even lighter with some very light brownish color to it..

the not so healthy one is like going to split,when i squeeze it,its not firm..

Can someone tell me if its just going to split or is it dying?
or is both of it dying?

mine looks brownish like that since day 1...lol..and i think mine is sick..
Anyway,think they might be sick...shld try to quarantine them and start giving treatment...

greenish and brownish...greenish brown.. dont really know how to explain it.. for some,its the outer part which is brown..
before this i have 1 which is getting greener( total i have 2 only).
and all the while i put them in the fridge at night or put in some ice cubes in their container during the day..
Then theres a period where i didnt do that for a few days and it straight away turn much more brownish green...(i actually ignored it for that few days.. to see what will happen..)
so i guess the problem might be temperature being too high at my place..
