(The tank is actually on top of my printer. :/ Finally my marimos start to pearl after I added a more direct light. Yay! biggrin.gif)

It all begin when my friend requested me to take care of his little marimo in a bottle. I did more research and my interest in them grew. Hehe.

Just a little question, I actually wish to take out the marimo from the bottle to give it a massage, but I realised that the opening of the bottle is smaller than the marimo. Is there any way to take it out (tweezer, etc)? My last resort is to break the bottle. unsure.gif

Hi everyone!

Has anyone had any success in treating marimos with brown spots? Do they lose the brown and grow back to green? My healthy green ones recently had brownish spots, and I've read about putting salt and doing fridge spa.. but I need to hear stories of successful treatment for comfort. sad.gif

Just to share, I haven't changed the water for my marimo for more than 3 months, no smelly water, no brownish and it's just as healthy.

Woah! That's long! shocking.gif Amazing. But you do rotate the marimos once in a while right?

The gap might be signs of it becoming a carpet marimo @.@ if its green, then its alive haha~
and am not sure which salt can use, table salt (human eats) or sea salt (for aqua livings) @.@
coz from wat I googled, seems like we cant use table salt as it'll kill living beings underwater ^^"

UH OH. i just did that last week, pinching from my kitchen's salt jar.
/runs and does emergency water-change pronto

however, i do notice that my marimos float better (and longer) after the salt bath. hmm. hmm.gif

Nice glow! That reminds me of the scene from Finding Nemo: "From now on, you shall be called Sharkbait. Sharkbait hoo ha ha!"
