Hi everyone! I ordered two nano marimos off of Esty. They haven't arrived yet, but in the meantime I want to learn as much about them as I can. I'll post some pics as soon as I can! And I'm sorry if this comes up as a reply to someone's post because I don't really know how to work this forum's controls.

QUOTE(ekestima @ Jun 15 2013, 07:27 PM) i serperated my sick marimo when i went for holiday last week. when i came back.today it seems like grownlots of new hair. but funny thing is the water smells. like taken out fr longkang, so i rinse it and change the water, still the same. Maybe you can try gently squeezing your marimo over the sink so the dirty water inside of it comes out. Then you can rinse it and put it back in the tank. Hope it works, no guarantee though |

QUOTE(crystalz87 @ Jun 16 2013, 06:12 PM) Hello! I'm not an expert, but they look pretty real to me. I would wait for leeyung to confirm this though. I'm a new owner of marimo, they're so cute! But i do not know how to tell a real/fake marimo. Hope experts here can help me see if mine is real? Thank You! ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(Freak5ke @ Jul 13 2013, 07:15 AM) Hi guys, Yes, I think you are right. These marimos do look sick to me. I'm not really an expert on marimos, but perhaps you could try a fridge spa or putting a little bit of salt in their water. Also, do not give them direct sunlight, ever.I'm new here, I was wondering, I bought these marimos from Ebay and it traveled from asia to belgium. I think these marimos are strange looking, they seem to have a diffrent texture then the pictures on this topic and they are not that green, they are more yellowish. Are these real marrimos? Are they maybe sick or something? Thanks ! [attachmentid=3532592] [attachmentid=3532594] [attachmentid=3532593] |

QUOTE(Freak5ke @ Jul 13 2013, 09:19 AM) Tnx for your fast reply You are welcome! I haven't actually used the fridge spa yet, but a lot of people use it as a way of curing sick marimos. I think that one or two days would be best- marimos are capable of going without sun for longer periods of time, but you don't want to freeze them to death. I think the water level you had in the pictures should be good. Any water level should be fine, you just need a good amount of water in there, enough to make sure it won't freeze too quickly. Happy to help! Good luck with your marimos, hope they get better soon! How long should they be in the fridge? (it's very dark in there) Does it matter how much water they have in there? Thanks! |

QUOTE(Freak5ke @ Jul 13 2013, 07:24 PM) Cool! Hope it works. And to make this post relevant to marimos- http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Plant,%20J...oss%20Balls.htm This website contains an interesting experiment a few people did on some marimos!
