QUOTE(bdrc @ Jul 22 2013, 12:03 PM) Hi, I have two marimos a couple of months ago, and I think they are a bit unhealthy and need some advice: First marimo I have place it in living room with low light, it grows some dark brown patches and after I trimmed them off, it seems to become dark green. The second one I placed it directly under a desk lamp (12w), and it grows some white patches as I believe it had been exposed to light and heat excessively. I then placed it in my aquarium (2x 24w lamps, 1 feet height from substrates) and it has some brown patches again. The average temperature of my tank is 28c. Salt is minimal. The brown patches [attachmentid=3547298] The white patches [attachmentid=3547300] Is there a optimum condition or method to care for marimo and who had success with them for more than a year? I even found contradicting information regarding lighting and salt. Just put it in tap water. No brown or white patches spotted after a year.
