algae thrive when there's too much co2 and too long lighting. Maybe you try to that to boost marimo?

After adding water, and plants.. nobody will take note of the transparent glue. hv a 2 ft tank with black tape, and another 3ft without.
For me black looks sleek and cool. 3 ft with added plants and such already look invisible to me ^^ |

The smaller the tank the harder to maintain the parameter.
It might heat up very fast or cool down very fast. Will give any flora and fauna a shock some even till death. Small tank also means regular water change which is a bother for some. i prefer at least 1ft cube |

salt as in aqua salt.
Give them cool spa in fridge for treatment. Your marimo is sick. What medication have you added in your new tank previously? |

Maybe is time to get a super giant+ regular giant too~~ if you say frm old tank, meaning you did not clean your tank properly. |

QUOTE(bubs66 @ Sep 6 2011, 05:41 PM) Mine also like that, after i put in my diamond water tank with my tetra. First my nano turned brown in 2 days time. then now my Giant also sudah tukar to brown. other than Diamond and tetra, what else did u add?Sigh... Nano has been in the fridge soaked with salt water since 3 weeks, still no changes. Giant, at least, still ada green green spot. |

maybe is uv light.
i think uv light keeps algae off? try google and confirm the above statement. From google QUOTE an ultraviolet sterilizer is one of the best ways to guarantee clear water when the clarity problem is due to single cell algae making the water green. small bottle we usually encourage everyday or every two days..
Even mine in a nano tank also WC, and off to spa on weekends. Ask him how does the water smell when he pours it out. |

with plants, it's better to drop some temperature.
Try getting a fan to blow surface, it will help drop 2-3 degrees. Too hot, the plants will melt. What's that bottle on the right? |

bu, the tree is created with marimo. and marimo only grow 5mm/ year. so no trimming fuss.
Only have to spend time trimming the carpets. ^6 But marimo this size is not cheap. |

December Rose, it might be expensive.
But look at the bright side, you don't need to spend that much on other plants and high lights and c02. After all it's algae And very low maintenance |
