QUOTE(kioko126 @ Apr 27 2012, 12:28 PM) now have 2 gold fish inside the tank my parent wanted to buy another 6 more ( chinese thinking 8 "HUAT") my temperature so high I think is because my tank is placed right beside the window this is also one of my concern not to put my marimos in this tank So put them in Horlicks glass is still the better choice but cannot see them swimming Goldfish shit a lot. So the water need to be changed often if got Marimo. Hmm...I thought goldfish is coldwater fish, so cannot stand high temp?

QUOTE(kioko126 @ Apr 27 2012, 12:58 PM) yaya agree the temperature is very high but cant afford to buy a chiller i rather buy an air conditional fix it on my living room on 24/7 (of coz my parent wont allow) Ever considered a chilling fan? I am using one now, on 24/7 and can reduce the tank temp by 2-3 degrees C. Talking about heavy shitter, my pleco also does that a lot. Some more long long one as if it's doing a ribbon dance.

QUOTE(leeyung @ Apr 27 2012, 03:12 PM) My Corydoras doing great job in cleaning the bottom part of my tank can you actually spot that fella? Yes, on the far left side of the pic next to a nano. Okay.. so what's my prize for spotting it? I have kept cories before. They are very nice to watch and they mind their own business. I am sure they love maneuvering themselves around the marimos. May add some to my tank as well.

QUOTE(leeyung @ Apr 27 2012, 09:41 PM) Haha sharp eyes over there, gave u the signature as price, ok or not? LOL Yeah they are living peacefully with marimos especially they like to swim in between the gap of 2 marimos Wah like that also can ah? Anyway thanks for purposely creating a smaller version of the banner for me. Looks great on my signature. Am overseas now. Hope my marimos are doing well. Gave them a fridge spa before putting them into my tank again before I left.

QUOTE(Malformed @ May 9 2012, 11:04 AM) The other day I was cleaning 2 of my marimos. After squeezing the water out of them I let them float on the surface and sink down on their own.. In an hour, 1 sank to a spot behind my filter and a plant, which is near a corner. The other marimo was still floating so I went to sleep, when I woke up the marimo has sank next to the other one. Amazing how these 2 marimo of mine always pair together after I clean them and drop them back in the aquarium, must be some kind of relationship between them lol. Oo...those must be Marimo lovers. You better not separate them.

leeyung, do hope you will post more pics/videos of your super gigantic ball. I wonder with such a size, can it float? As for my Marimos, they are now in my Marimo+shrimp tank. Love it so much!

QUOTE(leeyung @ Jun 6 2012, 01:02 PM) Depends on the shape bro, if round edge finishing one more exp, but price is about below RM100 for tank only (without any other things) The 1.5ft tank I bought (Ocean free) comes with a separate free clamping light and HOB (Hang on the back) filter. The price was RM120+ from Natural Aquatics, Subang. Mine is a D shaped tank, means the 2 ends at the front has round finishing. I like this tank, the glass is very clear. If you want cheap tanks, can go for those china brand or custom made ones. I think 2ft tank less than RM50. There is someone selling such tanks in lowyat forum also.

QUOTE(KHONG1972 @ Jun 14 2012, 11:13 PM) I have received the Kawai Marimo..... First, the tank is prepared to welcome the new kawai addition. Fake plants have been removed! The Marimos are in ! The floating one still yet to find his perfect landing spot ! The other 4 Giant and 2 Nano have settled down. The busybody Neon Tetra started to mingle with these kawai Marimo.
Looks so much better without the plastic plants, and with the Marimos.

I have been placing all my Marimos in this tank for a few months. I use timer to turn on & off the tank's light for around 8 hrs every night. QUOTE(fishman @ Dec 10 2012, 12:50 AM) My super giant Marimo floated for a few days after a bath.
However when i got back from my 2 weeks holiday recently, all my Marimos have big brown patches. Also looked like they have been floating around.
Is it because of too much light? I have done fridge spa for a few days but dun see any improvement. Any advise? This post has been edited by fishman: Jan 6 2013, 11:07 AM

QUOTE(Kaisergrendel @ Jan 6 2013, 02:16 PM) The brown parts look pretty dead. That's probably why spa doesn't work. A few of mine looked like that after getting too much sun. Stayed that way for about two months, so I used a pair of scissors to trim off the dead stuff on the surface until I could see green, being careful not to cut too much of the green off and maintaining the round shape. It still looked 50% grey, but I left it like that. Now it's green all over again. I keep my marimo in a tank with a white 24W T5 light, 12-16 hours a day. They don't seem to get burned by it. Thanks bro. Yah... come to think of it, shouldn't be caused by the lighting. Could be due to water heating up as no fan and consistent lighting. Somemore it is a small tank. Well whatever it is, I am praying hard my Marimos (10 giant & 1 super giant) will survive.
