QUOTE(LuQEE @ Mar 8 2012, 11:51 AM) Crystal stone is actually natural stone that we can put into your aquarium to purify the water. But for marimo tank, recommend to go for coral stone/sand as it controlling your water PH level well.Added on March 8, 2012, 4:54 pm QUOTE(advocado @ Mar 8 2012, 03:36 PM) Refer post #866 in this thread for more info, been discussed previously This post has been edited by leeyung: Mar 8 2012, 04:54 PM |

I accidentally put my marimo on the window sill on morning till 12pm today. I went out thinking that today weather was cloudy. and when i come back, it was quite sunny. I have an awning for that window. Its not really sunny but theres still light. I dunno if its me but my marimo looked less green.
And there's a small gap (butt line my sister called it) on one of my nano marimo. I wonder why suddenly theres a gap there. Did i just kill it? T_T This post has been edited by Nekochan: Mar 11 2012, 01:37 PM |

I realize that my Marimo has some brown spots when I squeeze it dry during washing. It was like that when I received it and I thought it was normal. And it has gaps in between too.. What should I do? Is it dead already?

QUOTE i quarantine it, put it in a basket, filled with mineral water, add a tiny pinch of salt then put in a place with low-medium lighting and cool place. putting in a refrigerator might help, if the fridge got an on 24/7 LED bright cool daylight specs. Results after 3 months: less and less brown patch on my super giant marimos..lol.. try this..really takes a long time, be patient @@ about the gaps, sorry i can't help u.. >< |

The gap might be signs of it becoming a carpet marimo @.@ if its green, then its alive haha~
and am not sure which salt can use, table salt (human eats) or sea salt (for aqua livings) @.@ coz from wat I googled, seems like we cant use table salt as it'll kill living beings underwater ^^" |

dunno bout you guys,
i am currently using non-iodized and contains no additives table salt (not the normal table salt) works fine by me since they are almost the same as aquarium salt. but if u have doubts and cut the hassle, just buy an aquarium salt, much easier but they charge you a bit pricey for one lol |

If you guys squeeze the bigger ones in a bowl of water instead of running tap, it's easier to clean out inside dirt & water. 1 of them can cause the whole bowl of water to turn brown greenish. Once you think it's cleaned then take out & squeeze the whole thing until most water come out. This should pretty much clean out the insides i hope.
