Hi, leeyung, received my marimos yesterday. Thanks for the fast delivery. thumbup.gif But one bad point is that too many sands stuck in the marimos!! will have to take time to remove them.. biggrin.gif

O.. look at this marimo, is it budding (aka 'pregnant') ??? hmm.gif

Glad that you received them in short period smile.gif No worries with the sand, it was actually a part of sands and stone from my tank, my tank full of them so that the marimos have sufficient nutrition all the while, no worries, just wash them in water, squeeze them several time and roll them on your hand, you will notice the sand will drop off biggrin.gif Nice tank! many guppies brows.gif

Hi, if I'm moving to another country, can I bring my nano marimos along?

Coz I think I read somewhere on this thread that you need a license to bring marimos from Japan to Malaysia or something like that...

(The tank is actually on top of my printer. :/ Finally my marimos start to pearl after I added a more direct light. Yay! biggrin.gif)

It all begin when my friend requested me to take care of his little marimo in a bottle. I did more research and my interest in them grew. Hehe.

Just a little question, I actually wish to take out the marimo from the bottle to give it a massage, but I realised that the opening of the bottle is smaller than the marimo. Is there any way to take it out (tweezer, etc)? My last resort is to break the bottle. unsure.gif

Hello everyone, I've tried searching but to no avail did I find an answer. I am currently trying to prepare an aquarium for my guppies which are living in an aquarium filled with moss and its pretty dark I barely see them.

I already prepared a second aquarium with the filter, water placed, simple decorations + a marimo. I am thinking that a UV light may replace the use of anti-chlorine for my guppies but afraid that the light may affect my marimo.

My question here is (1) will the UV light affect my marimo and (2) will it prevent the use of anti-chlorine?

I have yet to purchase the UV light, and I saw that the power is 9 watt at the fish shop. Kindly advice please!

I have a question, can i keep moss balls with african cichlids?

They are known to be aggressive fishes and they eat snails as well

No experiences on african cichlids, therefore I am not sure about that

Thank you leeyung for clarifying details with me over PM, you certainly helped me alot! The marimo that I have placed in the aquarium with my guppies seemed unsecure. Some of the guppies are aggresively kissing them! I'm wondering are they kissing or infact, eating.
