I place it into my new setup planted tank.

Mine also like that, after i put in my diamond water tank with my tetra. First my nano turned brown in 2 days time. then now my Giant also sudah tukar to brown.

Sigh...

Nano has been in the fridge soaked with salt water since 3 weeks, still no changes. Giant, at least, still ada green green spot.

maybe is uv light.
i think uv light keeps algae off?
try google and confirm the above statement.
From google
QUOTE
an ultraviolet sterilizer is one of the best ways to guarantee clear water when the clarity problem is due to single cell algae making the water green.

100% confirmed is UV light smile.gif UV will kill any algae smile.gif that is the main reason cant expose marimo under sunlight is because of the UV, UV light is equivalent with sun light

I am supposed diamond water is having better quality as compared to pipe water doesnt it, so I didnt see any issue for using it smile.gif the only issue arise from the mentioned case is the small bottle is used and therefore bad water circulation and lead to high water temperature. FYI, according to my experiment, 9 Liter Nano tank with water filter for air circulation, water temperature is always 34-35 degrees while room temperature is only 35-36

he put in the office, bottle without any lids, every week change water.

My case how ar? both giant and nano now soaking in salt water in the fridge. Nano already 3 weeks plus in the fridge. Giant only day 2. Huhhuhu

i was away from office for past 3 weeks, so other cllg pandai pandai buang my giant in the tank due to the long raya/merdeka holiday. They scared my tetra will die of hunger, so marimo become the victim.

small bottle we usually encourage everyday or every two days..
Even mine in a nano tank also WC, and off to spa on weekends.
Ask him how does the water smell when he pours it out.
