Practicing against Insane Ai is very good for your macro before u start laddering in 1v1.

Benefit :

- You're more prepared against rush attacks
- Improve in macro and micro
- Improve in using unit skills (Forcefield, etc)
- Good for learning new control groups.

Disadvantage

- Ai can't play like real players, if u attack their base while they're attacking u, they'll definitely fall back even if theres only like 4 zealot in their base and they have max army supply (they're stupid).
- Cheesing using DT rush, banshee, early void ray, hellion drops, early mutalisk might win u the game easily.
- They keep attacking the same place, using the same build, at the same period of time, too predictable.
- They have a fixed time to expo even tho their mineral and gas count are overwhelming (insane Ai gains free mineral over time, and their workers get 7 mineral or more per mineral they return).
- This wont help on how to counter cheesy build, drops, and other creative play by players.

How to win against them :

- U can make good use of their disadvantages as stated above, but it doesn't help u improve much, since its cheating.

- I don't play other race, but for protoss, i reckon you go for forge fast expand build, putting 2-3 cannon is enough to hold off the 1st wave (around 5 minute mark), while waiting for the 2nd wave, make sure u have likes 5 sentry, 5 stalker/immortal at least, and with the help of 3 cannon, with good use of Forcefield, their 2nd wave wont be a problem. 3rd wave is when u turn the tide, you should gotten couple of collosus by now, it will be really easy to hold off their 3rd wave, and if u mass your army a bit more, you can start moving across the map and win the game.

- Another way is by doing a 2 gas 4 gate, if u prepare it well enough, it'll be really easy, as long as u can forcefield properly, cause Ai is stupid.

it really feel good when 1 day you finally manage to pull off a pretty long game against insane AI. you need to be on top of your macro to barely defend your opponent's ridiculous push. as the game goes longer, it becomes easier.

Yeah, but AI insane would just build counter unit to what ever unit i build. Not to mention their number are greater than mine..So when they come in the 5 minute mark..i would say omg..what an army

Lol, yeah u guys answered the question, but all your answer is by taking advantage of their stupid intelligence, if you want to improve, play standard against them, with proper micro and macro, you can win, and without doubt, that skill you'll get will bring you to platinum at least.

To beat 7 Insane AI FFA, just choose Terran, Lavaflow map, fly your CC to the island, and start massing BCs. Easy victory.

I've tried playing a normal game once. Only way I held off was force field ramp + cannons. ~_~ A better way to improve is to play against Fyn AI.
