try to get better brand brake pads. Brake is one of the most important component in your car as it means life and death in some situation. Don't try to save money on that.

Honda brake pads are actually good for daily average usage. Low brake dust, quiet braking.

For once I've tried Brembo and those pads are shitty. It will give out an annoying sound when the car is nearing to halt. After few months, changed back to Honda pads and the sound went away for good.

SC prices are always a rip off! laugh.gif For that price I can get high performance 550 degree Project Mu Japan street pads, surely much better performance than std original pads! Original pads should be just around rm100-200.

Yeah Honda charge almost 1k for brake pad. Proton too for select model in specific Inspira. They give you Akebono pads which is expected to be expensive.

Change outside le. Less than 500. Mine on TRW D-TEC.

Akebono is used by many cars as normal original pads. Same case with Advics from Japan for example. At most, they cost probably just over rm200, no where near rm400-500. Those costing rm400 or above are usually higher performance aftermarket street pads that can handle higher temperature with less fading, for example those from Project Mu Japan, Endless, EBC, etc2.

TRW is China brake pad hence very cheap (can get below rm100 per pair), seems decent but very dusty.

Honda service centre told me that to change the Honda City front and rear disc brake pads, the cost plus installation is around Rm 680++. Wah  shocking.gif ...quite expenses!! Can i change it at other workshop like Castrol Service Center? Because they told me that they use brand Bosch brake pads and the cost plus installation just around RM 200++.So big difference the price. Is it safe to use the Bosch brand ? Other than Bosch, any others brand to recommend ?  wub.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Scam
Honda 3s will never reveal the real brans, everything is Honda brand even on from other brands.

I'm using Fuji brakes which OEM to Honda Japan, price under 150 for front, used to be 90 but inflation due to weak ringgit and over the years I guess.

Hehe 200 is the starting price for performance pads
300 should be 500deg
400 should be 800deg

Unless a Japanese supercar like GTR or NSX one wouldn't really need to spend above 500 for pads

1k doh.gif doh.gif . But what car bro?.

My brother just changed brake pads 3 months ago at Kah Motor. Rm750, Honda Insight 2011. Never changed since buy new 6 years ago. Lol.

Ya, price maybe cut throat, But so convenience la since can complete asap.

But if got excess time, can buy sendiri outside and ask any workshop or tyre workshop pasang. Way more cheaper bro. Can easily got half than that. Lol.

But it always up to ppl bro. I dont even want to said ppl change parts at service centre is stupid since I see maybe there are too busy with their time and want to finish everything in one day.

And ya, I service my city at both Ban Lee Hin and Kah Motor. Some parts which I feels too expensive, I ask them dont tukar for me, I outsourced and pasang luar. Lol.

I think, both same la, charge a bit premium compare to outside, but I still service at Honda sc since they service according to schedule.

Outside some workshop oni change engine oil, oil filter which made me even worried doh.gif .
