hi guys, i have a question for the fellow hardcore gamers.
1) can sager laptops sustain 6-10hours of gaming daily? how will the heat be like?
2) other than xoticpc and mucroasia, where else can i get my hands on a sager laptop?
thanks and have a nice day.

I'm wondering how's the cooling system for NP9150. Are they good? comparable to Asus cooling system?

you guys prefer gamut matte or gamut glossy?

Added on June 7, 2012, 7:32 ami finally place my order for p150em.

i7 3610, 7970m, 95% Gamut glossy display, 8Gb ram, 500gb HDD and other normal stuff.total cost me AUD$1811 sad.gif

can't believe i spent so much money in laptop
*
like what soundsyst64 said, the matte doesnt have the mirror effect. However, if you're a design student or some sort who may use a lot of graphical works with colours and stuff. Best to get a glossy screen.

But either way, if you're going to save some cost by getting the glossy screen. No worries, you'll do just fine.

cool...

how about SSD? should I get lower capacity(120GB) for SSD and another normal HDD in optical drive bay?

I don't think 120Gb is enough to install some games but is there any noticeable performance in gaming? Or I can install game into normal HDD?
*
They always say SSDs are worth investing in smile.gif Significantly faster boot time compared to a HDD. Gaming wise, I dont think it'll help much. Maybe for loading time? But if you want to get higher FPS, then invest in better gpu. But i see that you already have the amd 7970, now that's a pretty sweet card biggrin.gif Personally, if you have the budget then go for the bigger capacity SSDs. But like me, I only want to put my OS and maybe a few 3D programs. So i guess 120gb is perfect for me.

should i ditch the dvd rom and put normal HDD drive as 2nd HDD?im not sure whether i need the dvd rom or not
i already set the budget for the laptop but then i realised the SSD speed is just drooled me so is kinda tempting for me tongue.gif
higher capacity = higher money sad.gif

looks like i don really need to put games into ssd.

i have external 320GB HDD lying around but i can hear the "ngek ngek" sound from it. not sure it's the external casing problem or hdd itself. else i can use that hdd as 2nd hdd
*
I honestly cant answer that for you hmm.gif if you don't need it, then you ditch it biggrin.gif but yeah, basically higher capacity you'll need more money for that. Or maybe you can just get another external HDD? I think they're selling 500gb or 1tb HDD pretty cheap now. Just a suggestions.

i just bought wd 1tb passport last month though tongue.gif
i rarely use that external HDD and that could be the reason it starts to die. i will try to format it and see how it goes.

i store lot of musics and pictures into hdd and external hdd kinda troublesome for that. also,i will run VM too

i will need to think carefully on what i need, again... sweat.gif

decision is killing me sad.gif
*
decision decision laugh.gif

i'm currently deciding which to get, between alienware, sager or stick with my asus G55 that i ordered since may 1st and still no news about it. Anyway, hope you make a good decision smile.gif

how about write speed? is there any big difference with other SSD?

I know that samsung will have the better speed, but then again.. Once you have a SSD, it'll be a huge difference. As long as it is a good brand

I don't care much about write or read speed, as long as it operates on sata 3 6gbps and can boot within 20 secs from cold boot biggrin.gif

It's 7 to 14 days at this moment.

We are the only reseller in Malaysia who offers local warranty, which means you are not required to send it back to US for repair.
*
7 to 14 days huh? that's pretty fast hmm.gif

may i ask, is the AMD 7970 price always higher than GTX 675m?

yes for Clevo but not for alienware. hmm.gif

which is funny though. AMD 7970 is pretty cheap for an alienware hmm.gif

QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Jun 13 2012, 06:23 PM)
to be precise, yes.
gtx680m > hd7970m > gtx675m where gtx680m is the most expensive

that's gonna be one hell of card laugh.gif but that source from NVIDIA right? not tested by any 3rd party reviewer or anything yet. But still, good move from NVIDIA this time. Cept for the price tag sweat.gif

my guess is only 5-10% better than 7970m.
i just hope amd able to provide better driver like nvidia
*
there's a thread discussing about this in NBR. Expected performance of the 680 could be around 15-20% over the 7970 hmm.gif however, the drivers for 7970 havent mature yet havent they?

in fact, there is no official driver for 7970m yet. only resellers have the OEM driver.
anyway, i heard AMD is slow in releasing driver
*
wow, that is amazing doh.gif but good card nonetheless. You'll never go wrong with a 7970 biggrin.gif
