Woohoo, new thread!!

@Mikeshashimi
Actually, if possible, top up another RM 500 to RM 4000 to get the Sager NP8130. It comes with Geforce GTX 460m and dedicated fan for the GPU. To be frank, until now, you can't find any laptop with that price which comes with a dedicated GPU fan.

Of course if really really budget is a concern, around RM 3500, I would say try to get the Sager NP5165, it actually makes not much difference than a Dell XPS. Sager NP5165's fan is shared between the CPU and GPU, just like most of the laptop do. I won't say they are gaming laptop, because a real gaming laptop should have a dedicated fan for the GPU. And I did look into the Dell XPS interior design, there are 2 fans actually but the other one is a very very small fan which I don't think it helps a lot. Trust me, Sager NP8130 is the cheapest gaming laptop you can find. GTX 460m is better than GT 555m.

Sager NP8130 might not have a good exterior design but the interior is well designed. One thing that you should bear in mind that the beauty of Sager is that most of the laptop parts are easily accessible, even the fans also can be easily accessed, which means you can clean the fans easily. You can hardly find any laptop that allows you to access the fans in the laptop easily. Not even Dell XPS can do that. :]

Not to consider the exterior of the laptop but if you compare the interior (hardware), I dare enough to say that Sager NP8130 can beat Alienware M15X-R2.

Sager NP8130 vs Alienware M15X-R2
Processor in NP8130 (i7-2630m) beats processor in M15X-R2 (i7-740m)
GPU in NP8130 (GTX 460m) beats GPU in M15X-R2 (AMD HD5850m)

Price of Sager NP8130 is around RM4000 +/-, price of Alienware M15X-R2 is close to RM6000.

I have been experienced a weird problem though...

The stupid Windows Live Messenger keep crashed even I do a clean removal and re-install Windows Live Messenger 2009, it still crashed... by google search the .dll file that stated cause for the crash.. it seems like it's the Bigfoot Networks software caused it. So anyone of u guys if happen want to get a new one from Sager.. Just choose the Intel Wireless N card will do..

been having this np8130 since late March last year, not seeing any issues at all. have you make sure the notebook power supply is working well? make sure the light is on and then try measure it using DMM. My first instinct tells me that that probably the power supply isn't working, so you might not realized that you have been draining the battery till it needs to be recharged, hence the reason you can't boot with battery only.

mine install 28.62 driver, gtx460m. Experience at least once before (with old driver version)
Even turning my laptop on for 3 days straight and play BF3 several times, i didn't experience such error.
in this case, have to check with your seller.
can't even powered on even the power adapter is plugged in? It's time to seek help with your seller. smile.gif

ya, the adapter LED got light, and the laptop body front deck there didn't show the battery is charging also. And it really cant even powered on even with just power adapter plugged in. ARGHHH seems like either adapter rosak or motherboard rosak already.... sad.gif
