Finally, my RMA NP8150-S1 is fully repaired and ready to be shipped back to MUCRO...
Issue was with the GPU, they changed it to a new one...

Now, I only have to wait for it to arrive MUCRO, and then send it back to me...

How is 6970M owner doing in here? How's the temp and performance?

i am getting 6970M crossfire, i'll post the temps here later after i got my lappy, i will check with futuremark , 1 hour gaming and idle, should be enough to c the temp running ok lah ok lha smile.gif ---but usually my room tempt is running 22, my m17x 6970m running at idle is running at 55 and max at gaming 70...not more than that, so its ok i guess...
*
Yeah, would wanna see how it performs too in crossfire... brows.gif
So, your m17x with 6970M only runs max 70? Very good temp there. smile.gif

My environment:
- No cooler
- No air-con
- Room temperature around 26 to 33c depends on weather

Thermal Paste: IC Diamond (it's F.O.C for NP8170-S1)

Games: (All on max graphics settings)
- Dragon Age: Origins
- The Witcher
- Runes of Magic
- Argo Online
- Lord of the Rings Online
GPU Temp normally around 68 to 79 on gaming. These days I play Dragon Age a lot, temp is between 70 to 80 with highest recorded temp 84c.
*
Ic... so, most 6970M hover around 60-80 then...

Have u test furmark yet, to see whats the highest it can get?

Anyone OC their 6970M? heard that it can OC to 20% easily without much heat increased?

hey Amal, how long did it take to RMA ur laptop? You sent b to Mucro or their kl service partner?
*
They repaired it pretty quick... time mostly wasted on shipping...

It is almost 1 month since I send my laptop... half month is wasted because of shipping to Mucro using the Pos Parcel, damn slow!

Didn't even send the laptop to the KL service Partner... I troubleshoot it myself with the sager techsupport, then confirm need RMA...

Issue was with the GPU (6970M)...

wow 1 month is pretty long..who cover the shipping fee?

Never thought of asking KL service partner directly send it to sager(no need go through mucro sg)?
*
Mucro said that they will reimburse the shipping fee from Malaysia to Singapore...
Then, they sent it to Sager US which took only couple of days to arrive via DHL...

Email both Sager and Mucro at the same time...
Sager confirmed that it is faulty and need to send back for RMA... so, skip the KL service partner...
So, I send back the Laptop to Mucro Singapore so that they can send it back to Sager US...

From there, I REGRET using the Pos Parcel mail... which took about half month to arrive to Singapore! total cost is RM39.50...
Should had use atleast the PosLaju International Delivery... which I think it cost about RM100~... WAY faster...

Only cover MY to SG? What about SG to US? I thought mucro labour warranty means cover all shipping cost.
*
Yes, they cover that too...

I don't think Mucro covers shipping fees from SG to US if you are talking about the warranty terms and conditions.
For Amal's case, he receives a faulty laptop, so they are willing to replace for him and cover everything, but after that within the warranty period, anything happens, all referred to the warranty terms and conditions.

For small problem:
Regional Carry-in (labour) for Mucro means you send it to Mucro and you bear the shipping cost. (If you are staying in Singapore, you carry your laptop to their office and they fix it for you)
SG Onsite means if you are in Singapore, they will go to your place and fix it for you. (This one is only useful for those staying in Singapore)

For big problem:
From SG/MY to U.S., you bear all the shipping cost.
*
Yup, I agree with you...
Mine is a special case, since it is faulty on the first day of use...

Dealing with Mucro is quite a pain I say.

Now, they want to send it back from Singapore to Malaysia using registered mail which will took about 2 weeks!

Only offer me choice of using DHL, which I need to pay RM227! rclxub.gif

I guess the warranty does not cover shipping back to customer from singapore. Am I right? hmm.gif
*
It does, but using the most cheapest mail.

I mean in my case it does. Not sure normal case warranty does support it.

So, how much difference is the GTX 560M compared to a GTX 460M?
Based on the benchmark result provided by NVIDIA, it is quite impressive.

Is it?

the difference are sometimes better, and sometimes worse compared to 460M at notebookcheck.net

however note that 560M is still not uploaded there, so I'm doing apple 2 apple comparison using certain games based on Amal's pic and notebookcheck.net result

(Note: 460M vs 560M)
Crysis 2 (High Preset):
53 vs 46.7

Mafia 2 (High Preset):
54 vs 40.6

Metro 2033 (High Preset):
29 vs 37.2

Starcraft 2 (High Preset):
63 vs 85.1
*
Bare in mind... the result from notebookcheck for the high settings is not on 1080p... usually only the ultra one is...

A tweet from an NVIDIA staff :

PellyNV Sean Pelletier
Alienware M17x with GeForce GTX 560M + Optimus saw 5hrs and 11min of battery life on the bench last week. Insane for a gaming notebook!

But from what I heard is that the NP8130 wont be implementing the Optimus... hmm.gif

Yeah, and now they need to wait for all to reply them on the choice of screen ... whether to proceed with the customization, or revert back to stock screen ... then only they can count whether they have enough stock for us or not ... but what is taking them so long ....  it has been a week dy ... vmad.gif

I feel u... I mean the waiting game...
When my RMA laptop reach Mucro, they wanted to send it back to me using normal postage without costing me... but I still opt for DHL even I have to pay for the shipping... tongue.gif

Now, I'm a happy person...
Damn, Mafia 2 is soo smooth compared to my A42JA(5730)... thumbup.gif

Mucro doesn't produce GPU & LCD. Moreover, it was dead after a week.
I don't see it has got anything with Mucro.
It could be bad of luck. Or Clevo needs to have tighter quality control of her hardwares.

Anyway, it's rather random.
Amal had a defective AMD GPU.
malice203 should have an nVidia GPU (8130).
I guess it is all LUCK.
*
Yeah, agree with you.
Since we both use different GPU, means both of us are just UNLUCKY... sweat.gif

Hopefully it has nothing to do with Sager quality control... shakehead.gif
