You ordered from LPC-Digital too?

@tjinn
Haha, I know LPC-Digital's shipping cost is lower than XoticPC a lot (by RM), that's why I recommend either RJTech or LPC-Digital. For laptop excluding harddisk and RAM, go for RJTech. For whole laptop, go for LPC-Digital. I'm not sure about Powernotebooks, never dealt with them before but they have a variety of laptop backpack to choose from.

I guess you ordered Sager NP8150-S1 that comes with AMD HD6970M. Quite decent, around RM6k.

i thinking for purchase 8130, 8150 or 8170, still cannot decide. hard disk 500G enough for gaming? i got approximate 6-12 game but seldom play...hai~~~
GaaraOfTheDesert had purchased 8130 from cubeHub at rm4k which i pm him to understand more, and i keep asking more question to all people to make clear myself. have email LPC also and xoticpc also try to look for the cheapest. i know still depend on budget. maybe in these 2-3wks to decide lor still need more input (include how to purchase).

edit: actually call LPC is because i got colleage will move from houston to MY so i thinking of save the transport fee, but LPC still quote high for 2-3 days delivery to houston about usd 130++, then i ask them direct to MY will be usd 165.

Haha, assume on average, one game takes up 10g. With 12 games, 120g. I give you max up to 200g

If still not enough for your movies, suggest to buy a 1TB external harddisk.

@petpet007

I buy 500GB at local stock and spit main partition to 160gb. others for storage. the main partition enough to add photoshop/office/other programs and some heavy games like battlefield/dirt3/crysis2/team fortress 2

I bought np8150 without hard drive, ram and optical drive (replace with hard drive caddy case) from RJTECH.com and only cost me USD 126 for shipping to malaysia

Hey guys, have a read at this article.

http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20110601VL204.html

Explains a lot what Clevo will release this year and next year, and what they have planned for us!

Highlights:

- 3D Versions of laptops (duh we know that)
- Refresh of the Clevo x7200 with desktop SandyBridge processors
- New chassis designs; special artwork for newly released Clevo machines. Keyboard and covers applicable, with interchangeable bezels.
- Special colours, i.e. Silver! biggrin.gif
- ARM support
- New netbook to be released later this year!
- Thunderbolt support with external graphics card choices like the upgradable GPUs in these laptops already!

You can buy aftermarket ram, hard drive and external dvd drive at garage sales which is cheaper compared to the one that reseller offers. smile.gif

I bought ram and hard drive locally which saves me almost USD 100 biggrin.gif

but now rjtech still giving GPU GTX460m as others is GTX560m. previous few days still counting looking in the rjtech but now cubehub and mucro.
only 8150 and above can change GPU in future upgrade right? 8130 cannot because power supply is low.

edit: opss sorry now check rjtech is change GPU gtx560m

better get an external for that.
ssd decreases boot time and also loading times quite significantly.
once u used an ssd, you'll never look back.

just to say,, GTX485m SLI is a really overpriced card (specially if u going for SLI!) well it has features of supporting 3D and so on but its useless in x7200 since its not supported, truly i can say in my own opinion GTX485m SLI has better Drivers with less issues than GTX485m SLI but CrossFire Links is scaling better than SLI..., well u can c the benchmarks, somehow crossfire results are close or better than GTX485m SLI - in some games like Crysis 2 and crysis 1 and metro 2033 or starcraft and so on.....somehow in some frame rate value is less or more a bit only, not that much... . if u got the money u can go for it, personally i decided to spent that almost 350 dollar on 970...becuz of being 32nm and 6 core

If you do some research, Sager had reduced individual gtx485m price significantly. Around RM310 difference from April to May. But the dual gtx485m was only reduced by around RM150, when it was suppose to be reduced RM620 (dual gpu). Therefore can conclude that Sager already offers discount for dual gpu model.

By the way, I agree with you that 6970m is the best value card currently.

Hello, can check with those who are intending to import their Sagers from overseas resellers, how are the import fees and taxes in M'sia like? I live in SG but I may be able to use my gf's address since she stays in M'sia.

Tried to import a Sony Vaio Z once, 7% GST was a nightmare and my laptop battery latch was broken somewhere during transit. Could not recover the import fees even though I refunded the laptop. So I'm a little apprehensive about ordering the 8150 S1 from overseas but the Sager resellers in SG do not seem to have very reliable customer service as well.
