yea...I tried..but 6 months with the TSI, i realise i miss my 2.0T MKV too much. thats why i never remap the car or touch the engine/suspension..wanted to let go as stock as possible to new buyer so that he can enjoy the warranty

just so happened a family fren expressed interest on my car..so i let go at good price, happy to let it go and get something more suited to my driving style later

I have own enuff cars to realise that...if u fall out of love...its better to sell and lose abit of value..then stick with it and try to mod it to something it is not...waste of money

Hi jwrx,

Mind PM me the price you sold the roc1.4? what mods installed?
Interested to know the price for a year end 2010 unit.

To those driving roc1.4, what is your driving experience?
Any regrets getting the roc 1.4 instead of Golf2.0/Roc2.0?
If yes/no, why?

Any roc owners with a baby?
Difficult getting the baby chair into the back?
Getting married soon, dun wanna regret getting a 2 door car and having to sell off so soon when the baby comes.
I know the 4 doors are more practical, so want some insight from those dads with 2 doors car.
The roc rear space look really small compared to golf.
The golf interior is surprisingly large, as comfy as the passat.

Thanks bro!

I have a 2 year old, The roc can take a full size baby chair and a full sized quinney in the boot. 2 door car is obviously not as convenient, but its a sacrifice im willing to make. I have gone back to PG with luggage, maid, wife and baby b4 in the Roc. The only time u really wish u had a 4 door when u get caught in the rain...putting in baby while raining in a 2 door is not fun blush.gif

anyway..im going from the roc to another 2 door...so obviously i havnt learnt my lesson yet..haha  biggrin.gif

you cant use my car as a benchmark, cos there are no other tsi in the used car market yet, and mine is def the only one with quads and R bumper

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the feedback.

Carry lesser stuff is a real bummer and the raining part as well.

If only cars in MY are not so over priced compared to say, UK, GBP20k nia, life would be simpler.
Cheers!

Hi Guys,

Which dealer and salesperson is recommended?
Jln 222 service given is good?
1 lady said roc1.4 and golf 1.4 same handling. But 1 is 16" , the other is 17" rims. Should have power loss imo.

I am going for a test drive only. If buying, oso early next year only... sweat.gif already half year gone by.

Thanks.

doh.gif  i always love to have lenglui to serve but i barely ask them questions.

it was a lady SA that told me golf 1.4 and roc 1.4 has the same handling......

will test both the roc and golf.

Btw SA told me mid june, new ruling for JPJ or is it Bank ( banks will determine the used car value ) coming out which might affect used car prices ( thus trade-in value )..any idea?
Did not ask the SA in detail earlier.

Honestly, I would have bought the Rocco if they were about the same price. It is known that Rocco handles better and most would agree that its a more sexy looking car. However, I just cannot accept the fact that in overseas, the Rocco 2.0 is selling cheaper than the GTI while over here it's RM40k difference due to the stupid 2-door tax. In Singapore, Rocco is selling for SGD177k while GTI is selling for SGD183k. In fact, Scirocco R is selling for only SGD187k, just SGD4k more than the GTI! And if Scirocco R ever make it here, I'm sure it's above RM300k.

was told golf r gonna be about 260k, available later half of this year. roc r possibly 290k-300k kua
..out of my league. sigh. even the 2.0 oso out hahaha

im sad to say this....i still love VW...but the quality of VW is no way near BMW, my 10k km Roc is rattling like hell, door panels, windows, aircon, boot.
*
blink.gif ...at 10k km only, really?
all roc owners have this rattling problem?
for those driving MK 5/6, any rattling problems faced before?
stock condition, not those already autofoam'ed.

edit :
Hmm....it could be a lemon car.
I test drove the Roc1.4.
The torque and handling is good enough for me. ..uncle style driving nia.
NVH is good and pick up as good as the Passat I had driven previously. Coz lighter gua.
Only issue is the door is light and does not close with a solid sound and the trimmings used are not as good quality as the Passat.
When I knocked on the panels around the rear seats, it sounded rather hollow.
Hmmm...

but nothing else we can do about it.. VW management are all F**k*ng lanci already.. my cousin book the passat, then some how he write in letter to the boss to complain about something la, then in the morning, the branch GM called him up and scold him for complaining and force him to take back his deposit.. walan... like that oso can wor 1st time i hear... how can they treat customer like that... if not becos of the 30k increase (he book for old price), i think my cousin will take back deposit.. teruk man
*
I was at Jln 222, the salesman told me , if buyer decides not to buy, VW will return 100% deposit to buyer if the price increased due to tax when the car arrives at port.

Hi Guys,

I know colour is a very personal choice, but still gonna ask your opinions.

How many of you guys feel that a red VW looks nice?

Some people have said that red coloured cars normally, abit hard to find buyers when I want to sell it off later.

What do you think? I had not owned a red car before.
But I see many red cars with badly maintained paint that turns me off. This definitely affects the saleability of the car itself.

Red colours fades easily?

My white car, badly faded. back then I dun bother to maintain.
My black car, painstakingly maintained with regular wash and waxing etc....it is hard work but well worth it.
Red easy to maintain?

Did anyone had such experience with car dealers/direct buyers when you trade in your red coloured car?
I mean hard to find buyers etc.

I dun see a lot of buyers going for red.

Thanks for your inputs!!

Hi Bros,

Thanks for the reply.

I like tornado red but it is for GTi only.

Amaryllis red(metalic) , tornado red (solid) and flash red (solid) looks nicer than salsa red (solid).

To me, salsa red look dull compared to the others.

Do you guys think so too?

u r getting passat or beetle ?

Added on June 28, 2011, 8:07 pm

considering a red roc.
just concerned that if take the salsa red hard to sell off in future.
i asked a lot of dealers...very very few takers for the red.
mainly girls choose it.
not to mention the possibility of 1.4TSI issue creeping up in a few years***
( at least for me, coz on average, i use approx 12k to 14k km per year only )
if it is tornado red it'll look nicer....btw..Golf 1.4 now got tornado red but SA dunno if roc got new red colour next year.

just curious, how come uk have so many problems with 1.4TSI but MY no complaints highlighted in the forums arr?
***perhaps the prob starts after the 75k km service where you change the spark plugs?
so in MY none of the owners have yet to reach the 75k km service

OT
I was told Jetta CBU coming in Q4 and it's 1.4TSI engine, same as the Golf1.4, ckd dunno spec yet.
Anyone here plan to get the jetta?

Any idea the next batch (Mar2012) GTi SE got price increase?
Coz the current SE batch is loaded with approx rm20k++ stuff compared to the 2011 pre-SE version but sold at same price.
This was fully sold out and next shipment is Mar2012.

hope u guys dun mind me asking so much ya. sweat.gif
