Hahahaha, the magnetic part yes i agree. That fires up the pot to get heated. But the glass will still be hot after cooking.
*
You are misleading us here adui.

The heat is due to the operation of the induction. Nothing to do with heating up the pot above it. sweat.gif

that is true. but it is so easy to clean. because the heat takes sometimes to go down and up. so cannot get quick change in heat.
That's why I have both. can still cook nasi pattaya. biggrin.gif
*
cook fried rice on flat bottom works also la.

The Kenwood unit is good even though its more expensive (RM 400+) than other single hob type induction cooker. I gave it to my brother and he is still using it after 5 years. That's how durable it is. The Vigico unit is just superb... I can go home during lunchtime (only 5 minute drive)  and cook  a meal because it heats up so fast. However, if your cooking experience is mostly using gas cooker... you'd be suprised how fast you can prepare meals for 4 persons using induction cooker. Normally, I would cook rice using microwave oven (15 minutes) and at the same time cook the main dish (chicken, lamb or fish) about 15-20 minutes. And cook either soup, tomyam or stir fry vegies using the other hob. So normally it's just half an hour of chopping and cooking.

thanks for sharing valueble info.

luls, i knew Philips products are crap, one day itself about 30 to 40 induction cooker will come in, half the sets internally burned, cosmetic damage, glass broken, exploded, burnt to the max etc. Health wise im not sure as i have cooked anything to eat on this induction cooker as in my house we still use gas smile.gif  nod.gif I'm not sure about other brands and the quality of it.
*
but u tipu us saying induction use heater coil to cook. LOL...

Anyway, gas is old school. You should try induction. Don't let Philips brand make u scared of induction yo.

Same cocept-lah.. Also part of electro magnetic energy.. The induction of the rice cooker causing the surface of the rice pot touching the heated steel plate dur to the electro magnetic field below the steel plate. The water bopiler also using same concept
*
waffak. Heat induction and electromagnetic induction also consider same. Ok la. Same same la. hehe
