hi

my question is townhouse balcony whether can turn into a room.
currently, left , right n top side is wall brick. front area 50% glass door. it is default from developer.
question is whether i can fill the remaining space with another glass window/door. if doing so, i can make the balcony as a room where i can put wardrobe n etc stuff.
i call developer, they say need check MBPJ.

i like try my luck here whether here got anyone that is knowledgeable or not or experience before.
mine is lower unit 1 1/2 townhouse at kayu ara.

usually approval required is planned for major extension (such as kitchen extension to backyard) which affected the actually house design as show S&P... but as your case just to wall up the balcony only without extension should no approval required...

as for townhouse have no idea, because so far i never saw any single of apartment/condo walled up their balcony as their own living space... perhaps refer ur S&P, Deed Of Mutual (if any) or other related documentation whether have any clauses that no allowed the change the house exterior design, color, etc... but by sense should no allowed for such renovation as the same townhouse land sharing with few owners, which same as apartment/condo...

i have seen some 5 storey flat wall up their balcony

according to my developer, they have no issue that i cover my balcony with additional glass door/window.

because the design of my balcony does not look like balcony at all, there is possible MBPJ might not bother at all (haha).

anyway, anybody here is providing renovation business? im looking for contractor for my house grill, glass window/door balcony, sliding partition glass door btw living n kitchen, electrical wiring ..i think consider small/minor renovation...

lastly, any more ppl can give comment of my question?
