Hi,

Does anyone knows where in KL/ Selangor i can buy ABS plastic sheets for kitchen cabinets? It's whole plastic layers they use to stick onto fiber boards for kitchen cabinets..

Want to DIY and stick myself

how are u gonna to cut it into sizes? the measurement required to be as pricise as possible and straight with 90degree angles.......i doubts in general to DIY it......

have u seen it being done?

slighly larger piece + those dunlop glue.. and run a sharp blade over the edges to trim it out.... looks fairly easy and besides.. it's all squares and boxes...

the problem is.. where to buy the material?

You can try at a hardware shop that selling built in cabinet material at Jalan Besar Ampang. it juz beside the main road。 I have bought a 4' x 8' formica board thr before.

standard size 4X8ft so the blade is handheld type ...... u can only get it from specialised hardware shops for furnitures materials only, it's not as easy as u said but i do agree it's easy if u look at the process done by the sifus..... but not easy for apprentice ..... nod.gif

I've tried asking furniture stores and even those like kian classic on obtaining the material... but no one knows or basically no one cares... so any recomemndation of stores other than in jln ampang besar?

i just want to say, our ABS is done by machine, but not done by worker hand, we put the chipboard into a machine, then the machine will doing the work to stick and trim the width to fit the chipboard tickness, and doing champer cutting at the end.

Will you able to do it DIY? even the answer is yes, but i dont think is easy, unless you think nice or not is not a issue for you.
