Will City's PL Match @ Etihad on Boxing Day be City's Derby?
This will be PL's match of the year. On a separate note I'm enthused about City's brand of football .. i.e. elegant, entertaining, enterprising football with the likes of thorughbreds (Fernandinho) rather than the ploughhorses, to wit de Jong, of past. ..whether playing @ home or away. |

Can't wait for the PL Match of this season to begin. A new football order between 2 Great teams one from Manchester the other from Liverpool.
Local Derby? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_derby QUOTE In many countries the term local derby, or simply just derby (/ˈdɜrbi/ or der-bee) means a sporting fixture between two teams from the same town, city or REGION, particularly in association football. Just like the word 'selfie' is in the 2013 lexiconwill the boxing day PL match (between 2 great teams) or Local Derby be for 2013 PL football? |

I do agree with most fans here that Liverpool deserves at least a draw.
So BR is questioning the 'horrendous' performances of the match officials to wit Lee Mason's non call of Skrtel on VK & JL on Suarez. BR needs to be cognizant that his outbursts might come back to bit his ass (Skrtel). By bringing up Lee Mason's birthplace (Greater Manchester) is BR stoking up the rivalry? If you recall last year, Lee Mason was the the referee that gave SG a penalty & did not red card Glen Johnson for a 2-footed tackle on Lescott. The football rivalry between Liverpool & Manchester City in the heart of North West England may not be as fierce as the South Wales Derby.. between 2 clubs Cardiff & Swansea ( a mere 68 kms apart from each other). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Wales_derby QUOTE The South Wales derby is a football local derby between Welsh clubs Cardiff City and Swansea City and is regarded as one of the most fierce rivalries in British football. Liverpool ( 5 Euro Cups) is a worthy opponent. |
