Neither. AVG sucks if you look at AV comparatives. Don't get me started on McAfee. Not free, not effective, useless.
Use Avira or avast. Personal recommendation avast v6. Play nice with lots of my security combo. Free, effective, light. Don't know why people say pay antivirus better. Was a user of Kaspersky until I found avast v5 for free. Never look back. You can set up your own security combo for free. Free security combo = free internet security. |

Forget to mention, Iobit was caught using Malwarebytes database. So I will never trust another program from Iobit.

QUOTE(jun16 @ May 14 2011, 11:16 PM) I recommend avast free anti-virus and malwarebytes.I am currently using them and provides great protection.Microsoft security essential does not really provide adequate protection in my opinion. Only the best for my laptop |

Depends on your needs. Have 3 different sets of AV in 3 different PCs of mine and all have it's strength and weaknesses.
1. KAV2012 2. NOD32 3. McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.8i I will not go into details of this as you can find all of this on the web but I got to put it, that VSE has some unique feature ie. User Defined Rules. You can set it to block port, folders, files or registry creation. I would have to say that sometimes McAfee do miss this buggers but it makes up for its weaknesses by having a this feature. That's my 2cents... |

i personally stick to avg internet security, its best and reliable, got the LinkScanner for web protection, and has good identity theft protection options, highly recommended
