I was offered JPA scolarship to AIMST and i am really interested in medicine but i'm afraid that the mbbs i get won't be recognized elsewhere. i am also vary of the quality of the education there. can anyone give me both the pros and cons of taking this up? taking up this scholarship will help my parents a lot.

Only place I'm aware of that recognizes it is Malaysia.
You'll have to work for the government for 10 years anyway if you accept the scholarship.

medicine is a very expensive course. aimst is recognized =) my advice is, if u're really interested in the course, take it coz if ur results are good, i mean in the future, there might be chance to be sponsored overseas if you apply =)

so many ppl would die for ur scholarship.

Dont doubt, just do it, if not asking your parents to spend a large sum of money is not worth it.

doesnt matter if recognize where or what, as long as you are good, people will want you

that is NOT true......for medicine.......

if your degree is not recognised by a country, you cannot register to work there, full stop......no matter how 'good' you are.......

ts's concern is not without basis.....

but if you only want to work in msia, it is not a problem.......

It is only recognized in malaysia. alternatively, you can go try and take the board exams in countries like Aus. and it's no stroll in the park.

getting a scholarship in medicine doesnt mean you're suitable for medicine. So jumping on the bandwagon just because of a scholarship isn't gonna do you any good.

And are you implying that it isn't worth studying medicine due to the tuition fees?

For TS, I think you were offered a pre-u course? just do your best and have a think about your choices.

2)which bank is located in the university??i need to open a bank account so tat my parent can transfer money to me through the bank...

3)is laptop needed for my 1st year foundation study there??

4)as wat i know, only part of the students are allowed to enroll in the MBBS degree programme...may i know approximately how many students are studying the foundation in science and how many students are allowed to enroll in the MBBS degree programme each year???

Don't have to worry about recognition for now, it is recognize as last year MQA gave the accreditation for the MBBS program. In fact u can see the accreditation certificate hanging at the Medical Building
