I think he is referring to this post in v8.

Still those are just speculation what the FL will be fitted with. Now that the FL is out and still using G4Fc, it will remain a rumour that a GDI version is coming.

@ Waachaaa,

Can you share your experience with the Silverstone tyre? You probably test drove the Forte with Kumho tyre so how is the performance of the Silverstone tyre compared to Kumho?

My car just arrived at the dealer today and confirmed it is fitted with 17-in Silverstone tyre. Wanted to know if it is better than Kumho or not. If it is no good, I will probably change it after 1K service.
*
Stock tyre are good enough don't worry Naza is require to meet specification stated by Kia ...

Tyre have to change any how because of Tax structure towards imported tyres are high ....

If you still intend to change it it better to change a better profile tyre than the current Kumho , I have yet to shop for tyre yet so can't recommend you one ... probably the other 1st batch- 3rd batch owner can share more on this.

Dear all Fortezen... heard quite a few issue on the start/stop button failure. I'm looking forward to buy a 2.0SX n scare tis issue is not solve. By the way it is due to remote battery weak or brake sensor problem? For me... if it is remote battery weak then it is fine bcoztis is normal wear n tear... in the other hand... if it is brake sensor failure then i would consider it is manufacture defect. Last qs... normally how long the remote battery will last?
*
break sensor, not really a common issue but can be fix by SC just turn the sensor higher that's all...

Hi guys i noticed forte technical specs size is wider than Honda City.
But when my friend sits on my car, he says its the same. Is that true or illusion?

Btw anyone found the cup holder at the center is BIG? When i drive, i can hear the bottle (ging gong ging gong) coz the metal hit on my bottle.
*
Yes Forte vs City - FORTE is larger

definite illusion , just try sitting in the back seat with 3 person in a City and place the same 3 person into a FORTE now you can really feel the difference.
FORTE and Civic is similar in size but definite more rooms compare to Mazda3

Yerp the cup holder is kinda annoying at times, try placing the smaller one nearer to the gear, or place it at the lower leg area.

This I have to disagree with you.... Export model having better QC and installations.... Our local Proton's power window motor always fails but export models will fail, after 8 years.....

do you believe in different supply chain for different model/customer ?

Guys, I'm planning to get Forte 2.0. Any advise on performance, problems & how about the service center? Pls advise ,thanks.
*
performance acceptable , not very superb ...

common issues for new units: dash board sound

Common issue for old unit : pedal switch

Service center you have to state where you are from basically the famous ones are Chan Sow Lin, Selayang & Puchong - for SEL area

Added on July 23, 2011, 7:08 pmCar owners do regular check your head lamp , my recent travels saw alot of car on with one side head lamp .. from Far I tot was motor mana tau came close was a 4 wheel vehicle .. on a single night last week 1 spotted more than 10

For large vehicle don't follow so close, they don't check and notice break lights failure as easily compare to cars, further more the lights are so small compare to size of vehicle especially trailers and trucks , so guys don't follow a big vehicle so close , in fact they can't see you from the rear mirror if you are tailgating.

LIGHTS is important !!

In July they were No. 11 in the non-national vehicle category. Without the Toyota Hilux and Mitsu Triton, then Forte is No. 9. If you take away the non-sedan/hatchback like Grand Livina and Avanza, Forte will be No. 7!

Similarly, in August they were No. 12 in the non-national overall. Without the Hilux, Triton and D-Max then Forte is No. 9. If it is just sedan/hatchback cars alone, they are at No. 7 smile.gif

Somebody at the Hyundai forum laughed at the volume of around 450-480 Fortes sold per month and says it isn't a threat to the Vios/City. Time will tell smile.gif
*
Forte will not kill City nor Vios off the chart ... they will still be the tops players in that category but FORTE had taken a big chunck of their sales to reach aprox 500 units / month (max assembly from factory)

oh right.

I do hope the forte's brand picks up in the next 3-5 years for that..
*
FORTE is very well known in US, Europe , Aus & SG

THey have taken so much bigger chunck of market share from T&H , and they are actually up against Altis & Civic unlike MY City & Vios ..... It would be a whole different story if KIA is allowed to have an assembly factory to cater for APAC region.. but this can't happen because of AP & loop sided auto policy

i had my forte 1.6SX petrol lid fixed at 2 SCs. It was working then. But after a few days, the lid will again not pop out. Only after many attempts pulling the lever hard it then opened. Does anyone have any solution to this?
*
Increase tension of the cable from the lever , mine solved 1 year + back till now no issue
