wow v10 already... proud...

guys,

gen2 cps uses timing belt or chain? if chain does it needs to be changed? i had the impression timing chain lasts like lifetime of 100K. The reason why i ask is because i went to 70K service the other day.. the service rep told me next service need to change timing belt... all these while I thought CPS engine uses timing chain, now the service rep says it's timing belt... rclxub.gif

anyway i have another story to share,

I serviced my lovely gen 2 cps at proton pandamaran, klang, my most frequented service centre, went for 70K service. I have good relationship with one of the service guy, unfortunately he wasn't available for the whole week. I got my car serviced anyway. After the service i checked the list of items done by the service centre... service sheet show a shit loads of items checked during the service including servicing the brakes.

Service went all fine... few days after I noticed a screeching sound coming out from the left side of the car, initially was intermittent, i'm based in kuantan so i thought i would go back to the service centre again the weekend. But by the end of the week the screeching sound was no longer intermittent but continuous. Scared i went to spare parts shop and got it checked. To my horror... THE FRONT BRAKE PAD WAS WORN OUT and the metal indicator was scratching on my disc all the while... vmad.gif furious i picked up the phone and gave the service center a piece of my mind. I ask them to pass to the guy who serviced my car, wanting to ask him quit his job and go farm, naturally he wasn't available... mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

with that i pose a question... are you guys still going to proton service centre or elsewhere?

Thanks for the info bro.... my worry is the ride height... currently scouring the web for options as well... titan adjustable looks good but the thought of visiting the shop each time i want to make adjustment due to custom made sounds a tad bit tiring.... thx again bro

Need help here~~~

I changed my RIM to 16", using 205/50/16 (using stock abs and spring), when I carry ppl at the back and go over bump, i will scratch my mudguard.

Do i have anyway to solve it??
*
205/50/16 you lose close to 1.5 cm fender-tyre gap bro... hence i'm running on 205/45/16... you can try using the spring buffer/cushion but it WILL wear down/deformed permanently sooner or later...

On the other hand i limit how many passengers i carry.... short drive 3 ppl at the back (coz drive slow) ... long distance 2 max at the back...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guys last time i posted about changing to adjustable when my rear absorber kong... in the end just changed to kyb oem coz really scared to lose the comfort part..

I find that oem kyb for gen 2 cps a bit harder than the stock absorber... so proton ori absorber is really that different from oem kyb?

Now got kluk3 sound at my front wheels when drive on very rough road even at 20-30 km/h.. not sure if it's absorber or the mounting or it could even be stabilizer bar link joint... need to troubleshoot.

If i change front absorbers planning to try sachs super touring... anyone here on sachs can comment further on the absorber comparatively against stock absorber?

and one more findingd, Bendix MKT really eats your brake disc rotor.. sweat.gif . managed to warp my front disc rotor with MKT on but it's because i already skimmed my disc before... stupid proton service center did it... DO NOT SKIM heat treated/composite disc rotor!!!

How many people agree that cps perform well during night? hahaha.... Seriously, the most comfort adjustable setup is front 4k, rear 5k. But it can't compare the comfort with normal abs.

Should be.. Cooler intake air... Fast cooling engine.. All cars benefit from this I guess...
