What do you need it for?
Best if you can let us know which models are you comparing.
Symbian is going to be fully phased out by 2012. Nokia is going fully into Windows Mobile 7.
Well, there's a lot of criticism going on on Symbian. Personally, I think Symbian^3 is a major improvement. It is very responsive and smooth which makes me wondering why the criticism.
Android is growing very quickly.
1 thing I dislike about Symbian devices is it's having hardware of yesterday to compete today.
ARM11 competing with all the Dual-Cores out there?
It's not a necessity for the firepower when dealing with Symbian I get it, but consumers think otherwise. Consumers look at the hardware with quite a heavy weightage nowadays. Not just a device that can do things, but they want a device that can do things extraoridinarily well.
Though till date, if you're lloking for a device which is strong in photography, get N8
Added on May 12, 2011, 7:55 pmIt's a little unfair to compare these 2 devices. N8 is by far inferior in many aspects compared to the S2 though both are flagship models of the respective manufacturer
I'm using phone for Multitask, Texting, browsing (using opera), read PDF file (lag and very slow) , GPS, dictionary, torch, casual listening music and taking photo..
This apps is MUST in my symbian
Jbak TaskMan (can multitasking a lot better,faster has many shortcut )
Smart Setting (for shortcut and customize lock and unlock,can unlock using keypad only
)
X-plore (to browse, manage, view, zip, unzip file )
I'm consider nokia N8 and C6-01 or getting android similar price phone..it seem N8 a bit bulky in my hand,,i want to use single hand only..
I'm interested with the new Xperia Mini too,,powerfull hardware same with Xperia Arc..
Yes,, symbian still using ARM11 clocked at 680mhz..Symbian 3 can run smoothly with only 680mhz 256MB RAM only in simple task, but when it run large apps such as gaming, browsing, benchmarking software ? It eat a lot of resource..
