Hi all, I'm new to Pad here.
Erm, currently, I want to find netbook but seems like can't find a reasonable one.
So after that the terms of tablet / pad eventually came into my mind.

I considered take a cheap iPad1 or a new iPad2 16GB.

Is there any BIG difference when comes to real life performance ?

My usage is Suring , handling office work like excels, word.

based on ur usage, ipad 1 is just fine for u

ipad2 increase speed,graphic and camera, but all seems like not that useful for u.

Tight budget = ipad 1
enought budget = ipad 2

end of story

If weight and size is not an issue....
iPad 1 is your answer...

Surfing ok
Office suite. Better test it out at machines before considering. If light usage then should be ok

depending on what you do(for work) the ipad 2 camera MAY actually come in handy.

(example) if you need to show someone a rough sketch of some changes that need to be done towards a particular(real life) object, the camera can be used to take a picture of it, after which you can do some rough drawings(on the ipad) to illustrate your point.

I actually had to use the camera for work once before....never really thought that shitty cam would ever come in handy, but it actually did,in this instance.

other than that, you could also use the in built camera in conjunction with a note taking app and take pictures while writing notes below.(better than using a notepad and having to draw the picture yourself.)

IMHO, if you can, go for ipad 2.
never know when the newer features would come in handy

For RM400 difference it is not worth to buy Ipad1. You will regret when you later find out that you can't Facetime or video skype with your friends. You will also regret when you are laying on the bed holding the Ipad1 surfing the net or reading books for more than 30 min.

Make sure you realize what the ipad cannot do first. I made a thread on it.

If work purpose you better buy normal laptop lol.

iPad don't have usb port and stuff , not really for working.

only can consider if u aready had a laptop

I got my desktop forgot to mention
laptop ah ? I want something which is really light, 1kg is the most ideal.
now still thinking macbook air now.
