QUOTE(lfcreds91 @ Mar 6 2012, 10:03 PM) sure about it? i thought F is fail, anything above is considered pass rite? http://fet.mmu.edu.my/v4/undergraduate/grading.htmlI am VERY sure MMU passing mark is 50. D+, D, F all consider failure to pass the subject, different grade determines whether you are able to sit for the supp paper or not, subject to other criteria as well.

QUOTE(kailoonthedog @ Mar 6 2012, 10:08 PM) How to take supplementary exam??IS it need go exam unit to do it??Does it has limited seats available??And when can do?? If you see *, means you are granted to take the supp paper so there is no issue of seat availability. You will need to pay RM50 to take supp paper and then print the slip. Please refer to buletin board or ERU, there was a full buletin on supp paper procedure. Added on March 6, 2012, 10:22 pmBear in mind, you can CHOOSE not to take the supp paper. QUOTE(SoLiD @ Mar 6 2012, 10:52 PM) can we apply for supp paper, i took 2 paper last sem failed 1...suppose to be my last paper d...and i didn't get supp can I apply for a re-sit? In normal case, you cannot apply for supp. Since it is your last paper, you could try to appeal to the dean. Disclaimer: no guarantee the dean would allow, the supp guideline is stated black and white. Re-sit paper system has been abolished. It is back to supp paper now. QUOTE(simbyak @ Mar 6 2012, 10:58 PM) Well its a pass because it is graded (in that you score a point for the grade) ,earlier on,like 2 years back anything below C was 0 point. So that new grading system was introduced to "help" us avoid being under prob, but still do re-sit or do supp. In fact if that subject in which you scored D is pre-requisite for any other subject,i doubt you will be bale to register fpr the latter subject.(I THink, not too sure),,But bottom line any score of D for core subject,is for sure re-sit! There is no more re-sit, just all supp now. So I am not wrong. Still have to take the supp paper if eligible. No star, not eligible. His friend gave wrong info . QUOTE(simbyak @ Mar 6 2012, 11:09 PM) Yup,thats basically it! hope your results was all good btw...Sigh,,havent seen mine yet, barred by finance! Im praying to GOd im in the pass(above C),coz already have 2 MC im studying for right now.no holiday me ! all the best to you if your MCs have been accepted then no worries, considered taking supp as first attempt. Added on March 6, 2012, 11:16 pmQUOTE(lfcreds91 @ Mar 6 2012, 11:10 PM) the only pre-requisite subject in foundation engineering is to pass algebra n trigo in order to take calculus the following sem. since he got D in mechanics, and another of my friend D in critical thinking. could it be like what simbyak said? Yes, explanation on the grading is corrrect. But I still have no idea why your friends dont have to sit for supp or repeat the subject. And that the clerk said can choose to sit or not even though already 'pass' This post has been edited by Human Nature: Mar 6 2012, 11:16 PM

QUOTE(LittleGhost @ Mar 7 2012, 05:38 PM) as long as you get first class in that particular trimester, you're in the dean list. Not quite true. You need to fulfill the min credit hours requirement for that trimester. Go search it out what is the hours for short trimester and long trimester. Also, we dont term it as first class, second upper, etc until you have graduated. For dean list, GPA >3.67.

QUOTE(chaukeng @ Mar 7 2012, 06:11 PM) 3.63 can apply?? HAHA, there is no such thing as applying for dean's award. Just work harder next trimester. You have 3 trimesters per year. Tthat's like more than 10 trimesters to go. Added on March 7, 2012, 6:16 pmOr if you are hardcore, apply (pay) for regrading to improve your marks. May or may not be successful.
