baby cot - for sleeping

playpen - for playing..

i think the support surface for cot & playpen is made differently for the different functions... some baby cots can tahan up till 20 kilo i think, playpen not the same

play yard is like the picture lor... but sometimes feel like the baby kena 'cage' lol

Kit,
baby cot usually can withstand heavier kg. usually made of wooded frame.
play pen can only support lighter kg. More suitable for naps and light babies.
usually made of plastic frames.

I invest in cot coz my girl can sleep till 1 yo. ( fingers cross) besides my cot only ost me rm200.
Play pen itself can reach rm300 and it's not even heavy duty compared to cot.

I'm looking for the fence too. But with metals can be super x.
Last time i browsed through my school's catalogue. saw a set of "fence" selling nearly rm1k. Looks like those pretty plastic fence u see in small gardens.

oh yeah, play yards as very expensive as well...

i used to plan to get safety gate and play yards and all, but as time came, i managed without one.. plus my kid is so hyper that he will bring the yard down, or force us to open the safety gate for him

We got both playpen and bbcot. He was with my mum (kampung), bbcot is to "kurung" him when my mum need to do housechores. And playpen also is to "kurung" him when he is back to my place. But this thing only can last for max 2yrs .. as he dun let kurung anymore.

But both playpen/bbcot is handy when you want them to stay inside while u be away for a few minutes and is big enough for them to lie down. As for playmat, play gym,.. every parents is excited to get for bb.. but soon enough is become waste of $.

I have get bed-rail for my boy as he is sleeping on single bed since baby. We didn't manage to buy safety gate because my boy good in climbing as his hand gripping and feet is very strong since young, and we doubt he could climb over. Finally my dad make a DIY gate.. by using wooden board and fix it at the staircase.

Not necessary use rotan. Since your bb still small, use more verbal teaching now and grow him to be a good communicator... when a small child good in understanding instruction, most important they actually do have some ability to judge what is right/ wrong. By then, you dun have to use rotan.. use your mouth already enough to calm him from naughty. If you can proof this to your parents/hubby.. I believe they won't force u use rotan without reason.

I'm also wandering how to keep little May out of trouble
when i turned my back... Cosway selling the gate also not cheap, whatsmore to imagine the prices for the fences. Maybe when i go back to school, i check the plastic fence hw much to be exact.
the catalogue is for school so the price usually very high.
if can get outside the school, mayb alot cheaper.

i also cant recall clearly. i read the catalogue last month before i took my leave. A bit like garden's but i think higher and sturdier. Coz that product was meant for pre-school / kindy use. you know lar~~ any bokstore has catalogue fr school purchase. The price usually very high.

Our baby live with my mom. Normally, they would let him sleep on tilam on the floor with pillows and bolsters surrounding him to avoid him knocking into anything outside of the tilam perimeter.

If baby gets grumpy and want to sleep, we usually put him in the rocker / shaker thing until he doze off only we move him to tilam. Do not wish to be dependent on rocking but to kick start the sleeping process with it is reall effective.

At home, he sleep in a Graco playpen. Playpen is good in my humble opinion because we can kurung them. It also works as a cot until baby is bigger and after the baby outgrow the play pen, you can just throw all the baby toys inside as storage. Not to mention it is really easy to pack and move for holidays.

Kit,
play pen is like baby cot i think.
My baby cot can adjust 3 different heights.
Now she's so tiny, so i'm using the 3rd level. very shallow.
The 1st level is the deepest. i think if baby stand also not afraid of her tumbling out. of coz the safety latch is pulled.

Regarding fence.. i'm thinking...the one i bought to fence my dogs...Dont know stable or not.. i think that one cheaper. one piece i think rm25 or can get.

genie, mayb my view is diff from u la... u c the lindam play yard the door is open full... ur "cage" door is not open full... let's say baby is inside la... mayb u have no problem putting baby inside... if lindam one, u can open the door full so no obstacle from top to bottom... u can squat down to take baby... mummies like us must protect our spine ya... if ur "cage" u either take the baby by bending over (that will hurt ur spine) or from the door (might scratch her or langgar the wall)... mayb i worry too much...

I kept my Labradors inside. ( Lab is big doggie hor) with all fences latched together.
It's very stable, besides it's not heavy metal..
The fence is like " together we stand, apart we fall"

Ladies, I have enough bonuslink points to exchange either
A. playgym
B. sweet cherry 2-1 walker
C.fisher Price kick and play piano
D. Vtec first step baby walker ( like pushing trolley)

How is it baby proofed? My baby hates playpens. She tolerates the Jollykidz one a little bit if she's in a good mood. When she's free she tries to climb the tables and the chairs, she can even pull the TV, omg I don't know how to baby proof my house unless no TV and no tables and chairs and no nothing lah hahaha.. Can never leave anything lying around, and her eyes can see the smallest thing and she puts it all in her mouth, have to constantly watch her lah doh.gif
