Should I buy bluray player from US? The power requirement is 120v in US, can I use it in Malaysia with 240v?
Will it able to play bluray disks from Malaysia?

In my opinion, it is not worthwhile to buy BD player from the US. It may be cheaper initially but if you add the shipping cost (maybe also import duty), the need for step down transformer (convert 240V to 110V) and warranty issue, it may no longer be cheaper. Both USA and Malaysia are in Region A so no problem of BD playability. You can get entry level BD players here for RM399 or even less so don't bother getting from USA.

Hi Ronald, thanks for your suggestion.
I am flying to US for holiday. thinking to buy from there. Is it a need for step down transformer? or can i just use the international power adapter? |

QUOTE(eugenecctan @ May 12 2011, 01:20 PM) Hi Ronald, thanks for your suggestion. I suggest you go get some Blu-ray film better than you carrier that "big" thing, you buy from US, no warranty some more and possibility face import duty + troublesome.I am flying to US for holiday. thinking to buy from there. Is it a need for step down transformer? or can i just use the international power adapter? Beside this, if not mistaken, US player not support 1080i and 50hz, (I had no idea on the BD player itself, but seems they have such issue in TV). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- In Malaysia easier easier can get a BD player around RM 399.00 This post has been edited by Andrewtst: May 12 2011, 01:46 PM |

Is it a need for step down transformer? or can i just use the international power adapter? if u fly to US yourself, buy OPPO 93 FREE ZONE BLURAY PLAYER, around U$600. reasons 1-very good, near best pic & sound quality 2-multi region, can play region A & B disc buy & carried back yourself, try to negotiate with custom mal to pay no/less tax of course u can buy 1 cheap bluray player in malaysai, but the quality is very dif. |

The only difference is just only the multi region right? with that price it is better to get 2 bluray player, to support region A & B.
For pic and sound quality, should be about the same right? compare with Panasonic, Sony, Samsung... |

I am using Pioneer Series 3 Speaker System with Pioneer 519 AVR (can accept Multi channel LPCM). So basically, i just need a Bluray player that can decode HD audio, then i will able to enjoy lossless sound, please correct me if I am wrong.

Pioneer 519 cant decode lossless audio meh?
Does it have HDMI input? For the Pioneer xx9 series, I don't think this is a problem.... and most BDP today can decode lossless audio |
