You guys don't seem the least worried about using DamianGTO's kernel. You do know that without a source to confirm, he could be slipping malicious code in?

Yeah, I heard a few complaints about not being able to get CF-Root tweak tool to work even after flashing CF-Root after Damian, didn't confirm it myself though.

Anyone tried TweakyROM?
I've tried: Juwe - theme is black based and notification is too transparent to be of use. Flashing any theme doesn't really work as only some framework is changed. ROM is smooth but not as smooth as GoaTrip. GoaTrip - Using DamianGTO kernel so naturally I skipped using it fully. ROM was smooth though, and he seem to be using a modded TW4 (not fully TW4 but somekind of TW4) Edit: Rom might be smoother in GoaTrip because of the modded TW4, it's very light. Edit2: GoaTrip phone is slower in turning on after a sleep, migth be due to DamianGTO kernel? Edit3: After using for a bit more, only launcher interface is smooth, Settings and Messaging etc is still the same as Juwe. Downloading Tweaky right now. If you haven't flashed your bootloaders yet to 2.3.3 (you were from Froyo), then you should flash this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901 then flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948790 Both using Odin. Edit: When flashing bootloaders, be sure to tick "Update Bootloaders" in Odin, but be careful, any ter-yank your cable or suddenly PC no power or suddenly flashing failed then you have a bricked phone already. Use the full facebook page (facebook.com) and not the touch site. There's no touch facebook games (yet?).
And for the "Update Bootloaders", if you don't tick, even if you include only boot.bin and sbl.bin, it won't update. If you tick it with a full ROM, it will update both the files, if you untick it, it will only install kernel/modem/pda? |

QUOTE(ken2291 @ May 13 2011, 01:48 AM) only when u flash bootloaders ONLY then u have to tick No, it wouldn't make sense from a UI point of view, as flashing bootloaders has an inate risk while not flashing bootloaders doesn't.if the bootloader's files boot.bin and sbl.bin are included in the rom, u don have to tick. they'll be flashed in PDA anyway. correct me if I'm wrong I still stick to ticking "flash bootloaders" will enable bootloaders to be flashable and not ticking it will not flash bootloaders (even if the only thing you have is sbl.bin and boot.bin). |

Kitchen Rom + Fugu Mod ultra is good, but Fugumod breaks a few things and its not so stable, but it's the fastest of all kernels I tried so far.

As long as you have download mode, it's still salvageable. Try flashing a full ROM from samfirmware (DXJPA comes to mind). Then flash to 2.2.1, then to any ROM that you want.

First charge usually needs 8 hours (even if it's full), from what I always read in a manual.

The CWM package doesn't have bootloaders while the Odin package has it.
And the CWM package is the deodexed ones, while the Odin package is the fully stock ROM. Hence you: 1. Flash the Odin ROM 2. Flash a CWM-enabled kernel (CF-Root comes to mind) 3. Flash the CWM deodexed ROM. |

Any firmwares released by samfirmware (for the newer Froyo and GB that I know) that contains bootloaders will enable 3-button download mode.

You can use adb to "reboot download mode" to get into download mode without 3-button.
Only thing is your flash must be successful or your phone is semi bricked (jig still works if bootloader is not flashed) |
