QUOTE(CrossX @ May 11 2011, 09:24 PM) i used Froyo custom rom and GB custom rom b4 battery drain should be due to improper flashing, try a clean flash. then u shld kno hw to get rid of "software update" too right? I prefer froyo since its more stable, GB rom is yet to be stable yet... battery drain is one of the issues but i experienced quite a few problems with apps to seems like its incompatible therefore i went back to froyo doc's rom... MIUI rom is really interesting, a whole new experience of android with speed too, but battery drain kills me... heard its a lot more refined nowadays not sure yet... Added on May 11, 2011, 11:20 pm QUOTE(klwong99 @ May 11 2011, 09:39 PM) This a absolutely the same Gingerbread experince happen on me previously. care to share wad apps doesn't run smoothly on Gingerbread??Some apps can't even run smooth on this ROM. Don't you think Gingerbread is the failure project on Android? However, looking farword on the next android version: Ice Cream Sandwich! Added on May 11, 2011, 11:21 pm QUOTE(saya_zharif @ May 11 2011, 11:19 PM) instead of using this to gain ext4 Gingerbread deodexed rom?? y don u flash to Voodoo kernel then convert?cd c:/your_ADB_directory_name/platform-tools (Use cd c:/your_ADB_directory_name/tools if you are using an older ADK versions) adb shell su cp -r /efs /sdcard/efs exit exit do we have another way??i wan to use deoxed ROM but then installing android SDK takes me sometime d This post has been edited by ken2291: May 11 2011, 11:21 PM |

QUOTE(saya_zharif @ May 11 2011, 11:48 PM) u can use Voodoo sound bcoz DamianGTO puts it in his kernel. GTO kernel doesn't auto convert to ext4 rite? don think u're on ext4. better check, never used GTO on Gingerbread b4 |

QUOTE(CrossX @ May 11 2011, 11:59 PM) yup i did all the fixes and so on, battery drain is fine but still froyo batt is better in my view ^^ lol. lots of ppl reporting Gingerbread having good batt life. gonna test it out myself weirdly some gameloft game doesnt work well with GB... some doesnt finish downloading the game files and it works in froyo... i'm not sure y yeah, tat's my concern. so I flash GB and find out how's the gaming performance and compatibility |

You do know that without a source to confirm, he could be slipping malicious code in? yeah, I know u mentioned about it in the last thread. but I never use his kernel Added on May 12, 2011, 12:05 am QUOTE(ic3joker @ May 11 2011, 11:52 PM) or u mean the normal usb driver tat u can get in the 1st page? QUOTE(pikachu01 @ May 12 2011, 12:12 AM) Anyone tried TweakyROM? I'm using Tweaky's rom I've tried: Juwe - theme is black based and notification is too transparent to be of use. Flashing any theme doesn't really work as only some framework is changed. ROM is smooth but not as smooth as GoaTrip. GoaTrip - Using DamianGTO kernel so naturally I skipped using it fully. ROM was smooth though, and he seem to be using a modded TW4 (not fully TW4 but somekind of TW4) Edit: Rom might be smoother in GoaTrip because of the modded TW4, it's very light. Downloading Tweaky right now. hmm... haven't restore all my apps so cant really say about it's performance. maybe I'll think to convert to ext4 |

QUOTE(fuadsyazwan @ May 12 2011, 12:39 AM) i read Ramad's and don't really understand about these: tat's to backup ur efs folder, if I'm not mistaken, u can use root explorer to copy the folder out to ur internal sd then keep it safe in ur pc. can anyone confirm whether using root explorer works??and if i want to flash XWJVH, which one should I choose? the one under the 2.3.3 heading or 2.3.3 (Stock 3e recovery)? for flashing JVH, I suggest reading here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901 |

flashed my phone with (XXJVH) 3 files, PDA, PHONE, CSC with repartition unticked and no pit. however, got the following errror when trying to reboot my phone.
E:Can't mount /dev/block/st110 (Invalid argument) E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA: your storage not prepared yet, please use UI me nu for format and reboot actions. copy default media content failed. So that's what it's saying when i flash then it reboots by odin. If i select "reboot system now" it will reboot but till the "S" and then it go's black.... However, after wipe data/factory reset it's able to boot. What causes this and do I have to reflash again? |

QUOTE(pikachu01 @ May 12 2011, 10:11 AM) Edit: hmm, I thought when u flash bootloaders only not the whole rom then u have to tick "Update Bootloaders"??When flashing bootloaders, be sure to tick "Update Bootloaders" in Odin, but be careful, any ter-yank your cable or suddenly PC no power or suddenly flashing failed then you have a bricked phone already. |
