You're quite resilient then smile.gif

A close buddy of mine is using a HTC Legend and is about to move to SGS2. His wife carrying an iPhone4 always asks him, 'Aiya, why you always troubleshooting your phone one, see my Apple always working fine'..  rclxub.gif
*
That's the whole point of moving away from iphone, you never know what you will get the next day, the surprise, the thrill, the excitement and etc hahahaha..... iphone? forever same, imagine you are using an iphone 2 vs iphone 4, what's the difference? same interface, not customizable unless you jailbreak it. worse still, if you install "Themes" on iphone, the phone lags.

did ur frend ask back his wife "can u bluetooth that song to my phone?"

there are just too many restrictions on iphone. iOS is a close OS where APIs are not open for third party integration. Imagine you wanna share a photo to facebook, you have to launch facebook app, from app to gallery, then select the photo.

compare to android, from gallery itself already can share the photo to facebook.

OMG...I've been away from the forums for sooo long! I've heard there is a stock Gingerbread firmware out already? Any idea if speedmod kernel still works on that?
*
yes,. he has released a new kernel that supports ext4 conversion. i am using it now and so far so good.

Is it the most stable stock Gingerbread?
*
i am not sure because i haven try it out. in most cases, the latest release should be more stable compare to previous version.

Hi

I want to try out Juwe rom as its recommended by many.  I am using Darky Extreme V9.5 froyo and here is the instructions to install Juwe...

1) Download v4.3.1 and put it to intSD card
2) Backup efs folder and take out your SIM card and SD card
3) Flash Stock firmware XWJVH (it must contain bootloaders) with Odin
4) Flash kernel CF-Root v3.2 JVH with Odin (repartition is UNTICK)
5) Go to CWM and flash v4.3.1
6) After reboot go to CWM and make wipe cache and wipe dalvik-cache

When I try entering recovery mode, i see I got Darky recovery .  Can I use Darky recovery or should I get CWM recovery?
*
if you flashed stock rom and CF kernel, why is Darky CWM there?

I bought my SGS AP set last month.  I was running Darky Extreme V9.5 and I can get the GPS to lock sometimes and it as to be outside in the open.  Sometimes it just won't lock at all.

I try Juwe's GB and stock GB DXJV9 last 2 days and try Papago and the GPS desn't lock at all even in wide open space outdoors.

Yes, DXJV9 got Bahasa Malaysia Swype.  I just try it and its there.

try download fasterfix in market, set it to malaysia, you should have a better experience after that.

Flash back to Froyo? Then Flash CM7? Any guides on these ? hehehe
*
to run CM7, you have to make sure that your bootloader is froyo because gingerbread bootloader doesn't work well with CM7. there are few ways to load froyo bootloader, since you are new to this, i suggest you download ezbase rom that comes with ezbase version of "Odin" to flash froyo

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991792

in odin, do not tick "repartition", the rest leave it default. once you have flashed froyo, flash speedmod k13e

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756

copy whatever version of CM7 and efsbackup (http://mr-creative59.com/files/android/MIUI/galaxys-efsbackup.zip) into your phone sdcard, then go to recovery, flash efsbackup, then flash CM7

my explanation may not be very detail, but i hope you do read up all the instructions first before flashing.

Deodexed stock DXJV9 with speedmod + sd-booster = superb. so far i do not have any issue on battery drain, i would say as good as froyo 2.2.1

Now testing custom rom "eRobot" based on DXJV9, so far so good, battery life is yet to conclude.

hey, you're the one who answer me in the xda thread!  tongue.gif so are you confirmed 1000% that the issues already been resolved? sorry for asking too much, im just eager to flash to GB roms somehow. the hands are itchy alreadyyy  biggrin.gif mind give some review for the jv9 rom?
*
in my time of using stock deodexed DXJV9, i never encounter any "android os" battery drain.

1. Exchange mail (50-100 mails)
2. Gmail (around 20)
3. whatsapp (around 20)
4. Gtalk (around 20)
5. minor surfing on 3G (10-15 minutes)
6. minor gaming (15-20 minutes)
7. always on 2G (when required 3G will be used)
8. voice (10-15 minutes)
9. SMS (around 20)
10. Speedmod 15h-T4 (EXT4)
11. Sd-Booster (cache 768)

Unplug from full charge around 930AM, 65% around 8PM. With the above mentioned usage, i would say it is as good as froyo.

Is this where you download the Deodexed stock DXJV9?
Link

What is this first part do?
1: You need to have a copy of the files on /efs partition of the device, to do so then your device must be rooted, have busybox installed and have ADB installed on your PC, then execute the following in Command prompt:

cd c:/your_ADB_directory_name/platform-tools (Use cd c:/your_ADB_directory_name/tools if you are using an older ADK versions)
        adb shell
        su
        cp -r /efs /sdcard/efs
        exit
        exit

Move the copy of the efs folder from the internal sdcard to your PC and keep it safe, you never know when flashing, do it now if you haven't done that yet.

Do I need to have busybox install to run this Deodexed rom?
*
yes, the deodexed DXJV9 is there. just flash speedmod and install superuser.

mind telling how did u flash? format sd etc.
*
1. flash stock DXJV9 with bootloader
2. flash Speedmod
3. copy deodexed DXJV9 into sdcard
4. go to recovery, wipe data/factory reset
5. flash the deodexed DXJV9
6. let it boot up
7. flash speedmod again because previous flash will overwrite it
8. go to recovery, change RFS to EXT4

that's all

*

change the product code to XME and it will take care of that.

*#272*your imei#

Note: it will auto wipe data/factory reset
