Need advice from u all, few days ago i buy a monoblock tat have 3 band adjustment only: level adj and 2 tone...
when it install to my dvc woofer , the bass come out too hard, but i want it to be more softer, so the problem is the amp or i need a preamp to set the woofer softer?
have try to adjust on my HU , the problem still exist....hope can get help from u all...
PS: the monoblock is u dimension ,hope somebody can help me to tune it perfectly... And 1 more question, if i finally decide to install a 7 band preamp, does it really can help to change the hard bass to softer bass or it just wasting money only, better change amp or woofer or HU?

i oso got monoblock amp too ! my current setup is x-over 50' , gain knob 60' , remote bass switch 60' .
Added on May 11, 2011, 12:17 pmif pre-amp is only 7 band has sub-woofer freq control selection ! otherwise 4 band or 5 band pre-amp don't have these funtion ! just my opinion .....
*ps: lpf more high hit hard bass , like here all sifu recommend below 60' till 50' freq is the best range but sometime need gain a bit volume ....

oic..... try reduce remote 100' to 50'/60' will differ alot .... between Hpf/Lpf is Hpf = cut deep bass (protect ur 6.5" speaker life spam) while Lpf = cut all music and vokal ... (remain bass sound only)

QUOTE(zennn @ May 11 2011, 03:38 PM) why dont u just lower the gain level on the amp..? lower the gain level will decrease the volume, the things tat i want is loud bass but more softer, just like u tune up the subs freq in the preamp, is like more vibration(trembling)and loud, not just bangbangbang without the vibration( i don like solid or hard one).... I think the culprit may be the size of your enclosure. Ported or sealed?? Size??

Mind to elaborate what you mean by 'hard' and 'soft' type of bass?
