Pls suggest 14" tyres on ori Saga FL alloy rims with Traction value of AA...cos hv been told that value means improvement in WET grip, compared to stock GY Ducaro GA 185/60R14....

Appears XM2 not good in wet...and also noisier...from reviews posted....

TQ in adv.

Added on April 21, 2012, 3:04 pmNo response at all?
No good 14" tyres for wet with AA Traction rating?

Does that mean one has 2change to min 15" rims to get good wet traction tyres?
No wonder alloy rim shops mushrooming every where... whistling.gif

can't comment on tire comparisons on the mentioned 2 brands/models, however do take note that yokohama or c.drive 2 in particular don't perform so well on wet.

that said, i still speed quite decently during wet conditions (over 100km/h) and experienced aqua/hydroplaning time to time. so far so good though, still controllable conditions.  sweat.gif

Hi... notworthy.gif

Me probably did wrong by starting a new thread for answers to my question...
Din realise there's this thread 4tyre discussions in general... blush.gif
So here goes :

Anyone hv used, using or can find out re Goodyear Duraplus 185/60R14?

Can pls confirm if it has 2 (TWO) Sidewall plies or juz ONLY 1 ?

Why?
Cos me saw @a tyre shop got different values embossed on the sidewalls of different tyres of the SAME model... rclxub.gif
Now, which is correct? hmm.gif

Wonder if it's a mould setup error by factory staff...
Possible? By Goodyear? rolleyes.gif

Googled but no results of such specs for this tyre model...
The GY Assurance has 2 sidewall plies...Mich XM2 has only 1 tho...

UPDATE :

Issue proven 2b a kinda "Technical" error?

1. Tyre shop guy (2gether with me) chk-ed other 14" donuts & found they all hv ONLY 1 sidewall ply!
2. On re-chk-ing those GY Duraplus tyres, it was clearly seen that the INNER sidewalls of those embossed with info of 2 sidewall plies hv a different embossed info abt the no. of sidewall plies!
Juz state ONLY 1 sidewall ply!! doh.gif
So outer sidewall embossed as hving 2 plies BUT inner sidewall embossed as hving ONLY 1 sidewall ply!!
Phew!!

Now one wonders...
Who is (maybe are?) at fault?
In Goodyear Msia factory?

Definitely at least a human (mayb more than 1?) is at fault!!

Whatever has happened 2GY Msia QC stds?

YOU tell me... whistling.gif

Wld I choose another GY tyre in future?
Pls answer 4me...TQVM!
cheers.gif
