U mean the higher profile tyre will touch the inner wall when steering full turn? Did the 185/55 will scratch the rear fender also? But i have rolled the fender wo.  hmm.gif

imho, yngwie was mentioning using 195/55/15 will cause the tyre rubbing especially when carrying full passengers or full with luggage / stuff because of
1. thicker profile than 185/55
2. soft / comfort stock / oem suspension

but the saga flx 1.6 is already running on stock 195/50R15 rubbers right? perhaps could consider this size too, no?

overall diameter for:
stock 186/60R14 = 577.59 mm
185/55R15 = 584.45 mm (+1.19%)
195/50R15 = 575.81 mm (-0.31%)
195/55R15 = 584.45 mm (+3.08%) hmm.gif

hi there, planning to change my 175/70/r13 tyres soon (wira).

any recommendation? (pls rougly state the price/pc too)

I just need durability and dry&wet grip.

and last, cheap.

currently using goodyear duraplus.

TQ

and if i change my wira rim to 15inch. the most ideal profile for city driving is 1xx/xx/r15?

tqtq, totally newb in tyre selection.

best size will be 195/55/15. ps3 yoko a will be the best
*
Imho, if wira stock size 175/70R13, the optimum up-sizes of not more than 3% difference are either 175/65R14, 185/60R14, 185/55R15 or 195/50R15

For size 195/55R15, the diameter difference is 3.42% already

As for tyre, yes, Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is one of the best but can be pricey tongue.gif

Perhaps can also consider, for performance oriented tyres, Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 or Hankook Ventus V12 Evo nod.gif

Hi All,
can anyone recommend best -price ratio tire for alza, currently is with original tire/rim

budget rm200 and below hmm.gif

thanks in advance
*
Imho, if stock is the Silverstone Synergy M5 size 185/55R15, can consider
- Continental ComfortContact5
- GT Radial Champiro Bax 2
- Falken Ziex 912
- Michelin Energy XM2
- Continental PremiumContact 2
- GT Radial Champiro 228
- Michelin Pilot Sport 3
of same size for next change

If different size, but maintain stock rim, can consider 195/55R15 which got more options but tyres will be more expensive as well hmm.gif

Good morning guys,

I have few questions to ask. I noticed my left back tyre become uneven already, can hear the hissing sound. I using myvi btw.

1. Is it still safe to continue driving using uneven tyre? The tyre tread depth is still ok.

2. If not safe, do I need to change both of back tyres? because both of the back tyres are different brands. One is Conti and one is Silverstone. The uneven tyre is Silverstone. I believed it become uneven because of me using different brands. Please correct me if im wrong.

3. So last one which tyres you guys recommend? Think of getting Michelin  biggrin.gif
Silverstone will not in my list anymore. Last time both of my back tyres are from SS but after using only about 2-3 month, one of them become "bengkak" and I changed it to Conti. Then now become uneven pulak  doh.gif

Hi, imho,

1. May lead to unsafe condition in the long run

2. Normally, if you are referring to the tyre uneven wear @ 'tayar makan tepi' better to

- check air pressure
- check balancing & alignment

But since you mentioned both rear tyres of different brand / model, possibly uneven wear due to different tread depth, tread pattern, treadwear, etc. for each tyre even though both are same size.

Thus normally recommended to change same brand / model, both rear tyres, both front tyres or all 4 tyres at one time.

3. If original size 175/65R14, more to comfort & quiteness like

- Michelin Energy XM2
- Toyo Teo Plus
- Continental ComfortContact5
- GT Radial Champiro Eco
- Continental PremiumContact2

hi guys.

need some advise.
I need to change my honda city front R16 tyres.
using goodyear assurance 195/50 now.
wondering if there are better options.
from my research, 195/50/16 does not have many options...
*
Yes, unfortunately not many options for the 195/50R16 blush.gif

Imho, perhaps can consider other options than Goodyear Assurance like

Achilles ATR Sport
Continental PremiumContact2
Continental SportContact2
Toyo DRB
Toyo Proxes T1R
Falken ZE912
Yokohama A-Drive R1

Dear all, after my tire change, my steering wheel becomes noticeably lighter..is this normal? Changed from 195/55/15 to 195/50/15..
*
Imho, especially comparing same model, the 50 series is lighter than the 55 series due to thinner sidewall / less rubber / less overall diameter
