Just slapped on some Goodyear Asymmetric 2s in 245/45/18R onto my car this morning.

They're ok I guess. Very nice braking, traction and wet handling with less than steller road feedback. It might be due to the increased toe that was put into the front suspension as well. Hopefully they have decent wear patterns.

Why don't go with sticky radial like Hankook RS3,Neova AD08R,Potenza RE11A or Starspec Z2?? tongue.gif

Are ROTA wheels illegal in malaysia ??

ROTA wheel by itself is not illegal
It is illegal if your fitment is not proper(Poke or in other word rim go past fender)

hey bros...wana ask which and where can i get a good price on these tyres...im running on 205/50R16 nexen6000

  Hankcock V12 Evo
  Toyo T1R & R1R...

Been reading alot...change my mind from yoko S-drive to Toyo then now hankook...Omg im going mad...haha...so many choices...

Hope sifus here can help...
*
Ehh what is your requirement??
R1R is on entire different category
R1R is on par with Federal 595RSR,Advan Neova AD08/R,Hankook RS3 etc
Those ultra high performance radial tyre
V12 EVO and T1R is something like PS3 and F1 Assy
Balanced all rounder tyre
If your intention is to go touge/trackday those R1R etc are good idea
If all you do is drive casually,PS3 F1 Assy those will do

QUOTE(guanteik @ Nov 2 2013, 09:00 PM)
OK, I am sharing my experience with my new Michelin PS3 215/55/R16 tyres which I have changed if few days ago. As you see, I have posted many questions on this tyre and so far did not get any solid reviews.

I've tried many different models and brands throughout my ride (XM2, RE912, Goodyear Fuel Save, Good Year NCT-or what stock tyre) and so far nothing beats the PS3. The tyre shop told me that XM2 is a quiet and comfort tyre and I do not agree with him now. The XM2 have been the best among the rest I have used/mentioned but still can't beat the PS3 in terms of comfort, wet and dry performance and handling.

If you guys are considering a tyre, get the PS3 if budget permits. It won't disappoint you. I guessed I made a good choice to choose PS3 over other brands/models this time.
*
PS3 and F1 Asymmetric 2 are some of the best all rounder tyre for normal people
They are jack of all trade and that is their biggest appeal

Since talk about michelin PS, may i know u guys opinion on Michelin Pilot SUPER Sport?

whats the price range yea...?
*
A better version of PS3 with more bias for performance
Price range is not cheap, check yourself with tyre shop smile.gif
What is your usage??
If you want a good all rounder high performance it is good
But if your goal is maximum dry road traction than there are better alternative

QUOTE(phobian @ Nov 18 2013, 01:17 AM)
I was quoted for 245/40/18 price ranging from RM1120 to 1189. This is on my wishlist alongside Goodyear F1 Assymetric 2/3 & Advan AD08R (if only they bring in the size I wanted regularly)

Just sharing my 30K kms experience with my 14 pieces of tyres used for the last 11 months, the list as of the following:

1. Achilles 123S - 8 pieces, with currently 2 pieces in my car
2. Federal 595RSR - 4 pieces, all blown to smithereens
3. Achilles ATR Sport - 2 pieces currently used in my car. Was intended to be my spare tyres.

Let me just sum this up that I am way over and done with sub RM800 tyres. Again, let me reiterate what I meant by this. I track as much as I could find time, I believe with the tyres above except for ATR sports - I have done 3 track days with each track day with average of 18-20 laps. And every time after a track day there bound to be issues with those tyres. Despite listing as W or Y rated tyres with max of 50psi - none of this could stand what it was thrown at it. And the worst is Federal 595RSR, despite all the hype of this tyres - I sent 2 pieces for claim due to thread separation and bulging issue. I was told that this tyres were not meant to be used in track! Another 2 pieces had both it shoulders, inside and outside scrubbed till it is not safe to be used any more and it also had thread separation symptoms.

I understand that not many would track their rides, hence this tyres does perform up to par in both dry and wet as it does gives an advantage of price vs performance. I am no angel on the road. Spirited driving to me is as if I just rob a bank. Touge runs was a weekly affair and sometimes it is more than once a week depending on my stress level.

My 2 cents worth of advise. If you are an average joe like myself who loves the driving experience of your vehicle on the road & track, and also have only 1 set of rims - do not save $$$ on cheaper alternatives. It causes me enough headache, frustration, loss of time and confidence. I do not meant that makes of Michelin, Goodyear and Advan does not give you lemons - but what I am saying is that chances are much lower from what I have gathered from owners using those expensive donuts.

Other tyre to consider beside AD08R
Dunlop Direzza ZII,Bridgestone RE11A,BF Goodrich Rival,Hankook RS3,Toyo R1R
Most cutting edge tyre for 2013 would be Direzza ZII,RE11A,AD08R and Rival
2013 really is the high performance tyre year

Except for R1R, good luck finding the other tyre.

There are some people that directly import those tyre,  but the price would be... And if buy such tyre better put at another set of rim otherwise it would be wasted if only for daily driving.

AD08R easily obtainable as well laugh.gif
He is looking for tyre that can do touge/track duty and these sort of tyre fit the duty perfectly

Thanks for the heads up - very informative!

But I beg to differ on the availability of AD08R. I have a friend who waited 4 months for his 255/40/18 which I saw it was fitted on his car recently. We sum it up that AD08R for 18" is quite limited and taking into consideration if the local distributor is controlling the quantities just to make the tyre exclusive. If time permits, I would get a set of AD08R for my track use only.
*
Try contacting netsum and T3 Tyre for AD08R stock
Other tyre i listed is virtually unobtainable short of R1R and AD08R

can give yokohama Advan sport V105 a try if u going for F1 asymetric2

and of course I do have these tire ready stock and introduction price are unbelievable cheap
below rm900  brows.gif  brows.gif  brows.gif

But usage is for track day/touge/daily driving
Fairly sure he don't want F1A2 or V105 and get slower lap time than he can on better tyres like AD08R laugh.gif

QUOTE(jusuchin85 @ Jan 17 2014, 01:04 PM)
Hi guys,

Need some recommendation since I'm a bit new into tyres and cars in general. I'm using a Ford Fiesta 1.6 Hatchback (2011 model), and just thinking of changing my tyres to a good quality one.

Some of my friends recommend Toyo Tyres T1R, but need opinions from the gurus here on this claim.

I normally use my car everyday on the Federal Highway and occasionally drive long distances (about 2-4 times per month). I like taking sharp corners, and good set of tyres for rainy days.

Size is a bit of a tough factor, since it's a 195/50/R16 size.

Any recommendations, gurus? Thanks! smile.gif
*
195/50/16 very hard to get??
Alternative size i will recommend:
215/45/16
205/50/16
205/45/17
215/40/17

Any of those above size will have very close rolling diameter to stock so your speedometer will still be accurate smile.gif

195/50/16 very limited choice. Last time looking for this size only Continental, Goodyear and Hankook have it.

Dunno about 215/45/16 availability but it is standard fit for DC2 Type R 98 Spec

Hi, any UHP tyres to recommend for the size 215/55/17 ?
currently I'm using michelin ps3, tyre shops ask me to try pirelli p1 cinturato or p7 cinturato but I only found very little feedback here.
Any advice?
*
If you want to change wheel,235/45/18 is more or less same as stock diameter
If you want to stay in 17" if it almost impossible to find tyre that tall(same rolling diameter as stock) short of going to 265/45/17
Your car should be a SUV i guess
