If those 3 ratings are high, e.g, treadwear 300+, traction AA & temperature A, then it would be a good tyre compared to ones with lesser ratings. Except for treadwear, most tyres have traction A & temperature A rating at the least.

However bear in mind, these figures are put on by the manufacturer themselves as an indication only. These figures are not verified by a third-party organization to confirm whether the figures are correct. I believe big manufacturers like Michelin, Goodyear & Continental's figures can be trusted.

the numbers should serve as a guideline on how the tires perform (grip), resistance to heat and longevity.. but real world performance may be different.

for example, falken ziex 912.. the ratings are decent, but in actual fact, the tire cepat botak and has so-so wet performance. hmm.gif

I wan change tyre soon, any suggestion for 195/50/16 or 205/5016?

im thinking of:

Yokohama A drive
Continetal ContiPremiumContact2
or any brand recommended??

Budget below Rm300

I prefer comfort, low noise and well grip on the road during wet for normal ride speed less than 150km/h.

if you can top up and assuming size available (not sure for the 16" sizes), go for c.drive 2 over A drive for yokohama

a friend uses it and says grip not so good. But everyone has his own preferences. I used t1R and don't like it at all. But my friend sings heap of praises for t1r. For that budget try maxxis ipro or kumho ku31. If you want good wet grip try goodyear Directional 5. But it's over rm300 and newer batch comes from China. Achilles is surprisingly good for its price. Don't expect too much when your budget is low. Realistically you have to accept some things such as comfort , low noise and grip during wet etc doesn't come in a package. More expensive doesn't mean that particular tyre will have it all. As good review re001/re002 has, its wet grip probably less than cheaper tyres. Probably c drive 2 or CC5 suits your budget if there's your size.

Hi guys,
Can someone recommend me a UHP tyre, 215/40/R18? I wanted CSC5, but no one seems to stock this tyre, have to indent minimum quantity etc ...
Appreciate if someone can advise over this rare tyre size, where can i get them... running on 225/40/R18 now but very slightly scraping on the inside of the wheel well.

Probably you should thank the previous owner. 16 inch and 15 inch price is quite a big difference. Get ps3. I think your budget can afford. Maybe get size 195/55/15 to get more choice of tyres in the future.
