I need help on choosing a suitable tyre for myvi... size 185/60R14
I'm currently using A Drive and now need to change to new tyre.

The choice I have are:
- Yokohama C Drive 2
- Michelin XM2

I drive around 100KM in daily... 70% highway and 30% city, not going to change the tyre for at least 2.5 years, please recommend which one is suitable for me?

Also, for those who using C Drive 2, is it very noisy compare to XM2?

Thanks...

my full review on c.drive 2.

AFAIK, xm2 wont beat the c.drive 2 in terms of NVH, though the dry/wet performance (especially wet) and treadwear will be much better than c.drive2. price wise they both should be around the same with xm2 typically slightly more expensive.

all that said, you'll prolly end up getting XM2 cuz i dont think there are R14 c.drive 2 around. even if YHI malaysia got bring in (doesnt matter if yokohama does produce the size or not) it will probably be damn hard to find/damn low in supply.

all c.drive 2 are mostly imported from Philippines with a small minority from Thailand. if there arent much demand for a particular size, yokohama malaysia wont bring them in.

C.drive2 available in 185/60/14 n all come from phillipines (msia market)

compare C.drive2 to XM2
i think comfort level,grip C.drive2 better
XM2 better lifespan, a better ECO(rolling resistance) tire than cdrive2

I beg to differ...had PS3 and now on GY Assy 2. IMO GY is better than PS3...in NVH and in wet. Dry performance probably the same

Tried XM2 on wet, good grip. Yes, agree on silent part, on highway can't hear the sounds.

But F1 Assy 2 lining for water look more smaller than PS3, doubt it will give better water clearance.

i will update later....wait for it...

Added on March 17, 2012, 2:36 pm1 of my wajarian fella currently using Hankook V12 and GY assy directional 5...according to him, hankook v12 is better grip...

Added on March 19, 2012, 2:00 pmupdated:

XM2 wet grip is also GOOD.but make sure ur alignment and chamber setting good too...some v shape tires also not so stable...but this XM2 give me confidence...just drove from JB/kota tinggi/mersing/kuala rompin yesterday...in JB area, quite heavy rain from The Zon...only from pasir gudang the weather is ok...so i had enough distance for testing.

hi,all

i wanna ask, for RWD car such as avanza, after we change 2 new tyres, which tyres should we fit on rear? new tyres or old one? I heard from forummers (other forums) mentioned that 2 new tyres should be on rear (coz avanza is RWD car), but when i asked the tyre shop guy, he insisted new tyres always on front no matter your car is FWD or RWD, becoz braking power always needed more on front tyres hmm.gif hmm.gif

So, can sifu here give me a correct answer ?? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif Already enough that i heard someone said new tyres on front, some said on rear (we talk about RWD cars here), but till now still no one confirmed answer shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

Bro, F1A2 and PS3 are literally king in the wet.

go check tyre review.

F1A2 the best for wet grip. see, it got so many first place.

Xm2 is economy tire. for fuelsaving.

some of my frens told me if their customers come for alignment and if the tyre is accelera, they know that it's gonna be a hard work...for wet,it sucks.so value ur life...spend more ya...
