QUOTE(yngwie @ Jun 27 2011, 08:06 AM) serious?I thought all this while LC is positioned as 1 level higher than XMS by Michelin. I would assume the same goes with LC vs XM2. Think more of 2 different purpose, LC meant for low NVH, softer (hence good grip too) and rolling resistance while XM2 for longer durability, but now with improved grip. Am I right to think like this? |

Hi guys, it's about time to change my tyres. I drive a 95 civic with stock 14" rims. My preference for the new tyres would be fuel efficiency. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Edit: I do mainly city driving. This post has been edited by kelvinftg: Jun 28 2011, 11:53 AM |

QUOTE(kcng @ Jun 28 2011, 11:20 AM) how did u come up with an approx assumption based on mileage for 6 months? The same way car manufacturers come up with the servicing intervals based on mileage. |

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Jun 28 2011, 04:09 PM) i tested both Primacy LC and PS3... i ride on many different brands before... yeah.. primacy is my first choice... heard from a friend that primacy is a very good tyre. but it's too expensive. just wondering is it worth to top up extra rm130 for the primacy....or should i just get the xm2 instead..so far, Primacy LC gives best comfort and lowest noise This post has been edited by alvin ong: Jun 28 2011, 04:17 PM |

QUOTE(kcng @ Jun 28 2011, 02:30 PM) u do realise lubricants is different from tyre right? U dont get what im trying to say. Im not refering to the actual parts of service. Im talking about the mileage. You know most brochures say service every 10,000km or 3 months. How did they come up with 10,000km in 3 months? Thats based on the average usage of a vehicle for the specified period based on normal usage. so average will be a better word in place of approx which will give green owners a false sense of security? what if i told u, for the same rubber it will be gone within the month if i am the one using it? Thats wht im refering to! Not whether its tyres or lubricant or whether a part lasts longer or shorter. |

should be okay with 205/50/16. provided the suspension is not worn out. as usual, some compromise in speedo reading / overall performance. reef_d@ sharing your waja's donut with your neo? 195/50/16 is almost as rare as 205/50/16. ze-912 is decent but not sure if they carry the size. for comfort ride, you can try yokohama range of a.drive. |

QUOTE(yngwie @ Jun 29 2011, 07:40 AM) fazron80@ Yes should be ok but it's not. It's hitting the fender under full load. that's why I'm thinking of changing the rear tyre to 205/45/16. QUOTE(yngwie @ Jun 29 2011, 07:40 AM) fazron80@ cant share/pass over already cos now neo on 15" rims while waja 16' should be okay with 205/50/16. provided the suspension is not worn out. as usual, some compromise in speedo reading / overall performance. reef_d@ sharing your waja's donut with your neo? 195/50/16 is almost as rare as 205/50/16. ze-912 is decent but not sure if they carry the size. for comfort ride, you can try yokohama range of a.drive. if 195/50/16 is too rare, think i'll go for 205/50/16.. or maybe downgrade my rims to 15", then i can swap rims between my cars when i get bored.. btw. any huge hit to acceleration performance if changing from 195 to 205? since the rubbers are wider, it would need more power to move the car rite?
