It's definitely the case of the latter i.e. heavy marketing of the Champions League. Think about it. With the rich becoming richer, everyone gravitates to the top. Gone are the days you'll find someone supporting Norwich, QPR, Southamption or Wolves. They may not have come in droves but I remember the days friends of mine became fans of these clubs because back in the day, few clubs bar Manchester United focused on the commercial element of the game. All that is changing now and the fact that I met with the bloke from Liverpool yesterday who is seeking commercial partners proves that. In time, more and more people will only support the bigger clubs or watch the biggest tournaments.

Update on the LFC Tour ticket situation :-

Just got out from a meeting with the bosses of ProEvents from Singapore (I got an LFC tour pin! yay!). The RM 388 tickets are selling fast even though sales aren't open to the public yet. Spoke to them about buying XX number of tickets from them and I may be able to get training passes thrown in. Anyone need help procuring tickets and if so how many? You can PM me if you want but we'll need to work out payment because as you can imagine, it's a huge sum.

Kickoff on the 16th is @ 5:45pm.

Mike Hooper was indeed a realiable no.2, just like Steve Harper has been for Newcastle all this while. John Durnin may have only played 2 games for our first team but 2-3 years back, he top scored for the Liverpool Masters when they visited KL. My first memory of Glenn Hysen was of his being paired at the back with Alan Hansen. Also, I remember rumours circulating in the local dailies that he and Ian Wright were being sought after by Pahang! Nicky Tanner? Average but I remember him for his hair more than anything.
