Anyone knows a good area in the Klang valley for me to check out some Asus laptops? Or perhaps even a Lowyat forum contact to purchase from?

Added on July 7, 2011, 1:53 am Budget? Usage? Preferred screen size? [/quote] Oh right, sorry. I was thinking the Asus U41SV. Usage mostly for university work so I need something light and with a good battery life. Screen about 14 inch so it's just big enough for me to read notes from. Though with a bit of gaming capabilities for when I'm on the go. I'll be getting a new desktop PC for the more high end gaming so that part isn't really a huge issue. |

Alright, so for now i'm deciding between the Asus U41SV and Acer 4830TG. I'm fine with the integrated battery thing. It's a bit hard for me to find specs for the Acer laptop though, does anyone know it's full spec and perhaps a reliable review?
Also, as an added note, I'm heading to the UK in a month so i'll need one with good international warranty! And, as usual, i'm open to any more recommendations This post has been edited by aku88: Jul 7 2011, 10:34 PM |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jul 7 2011, 10:37 PM) This is the place to go for 4830Tg associated stuffs: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1806729 Oh man, thank you so much. I owe you one ice milo! You can extend international warranty for your Acer, but then its going to cost alot haha~ Getting an Asus will be better since most of them come with 2 years international warranty Warranty aside, any insight into any major differences between the two laptops? |

Not sure if this is a stupid question but for the Asus U41SV, is it possible to upgrade the chipset to an i7? Also, for anyone who owns this, just wondering if the battery life claims of 10 hours is anywhere accurate.

Anyone has any idea if Asus will be announcing any new line laptops soon? Because if not i'm planning on getting the U41SV soon. Also, not sure where else to post this but does anyone has any quick tips on proper care for laptop batteries?

Ooh, yeah I'm interested in the U series in particular. When do you think the new U series specs will be announced?

Hi guys, need recommendation for a friend of mine. First off, the clause here is that she's living in Canada so it's going to have to be available there.
Brand: Any Size: 15.6 inch or less. Preferably 14 inch. Budget: Less than Canadian $500 (So about... RM1556) before tax Uses/Specs: Basic use. Mostly for writing up reports and doing the usual like watching movies and listening to music. For her sake, preferably one that has good battery life, no heating problems and since she loves Skyping, a good webcam. Furthermore, something light so she can lug it around everywhere. |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jul 11 2011, 10:13 AM) Wow, its good to see that they've implemented llano in the Dv6 rather than the G6 Yeah, she's there now and due to unforeseen circumstances, her old HP laptop died due to tea-based injuries. So she needs to buy a new one there and currently knows close to nothing about laptop purchasing. Added on July 11, 2011, 10:13 am She's buying the laptop there? Added on July 11, 2011, 10:15 am Considered Dell Vostros already? QUOTE(kucingfight @ Jul 11 2011, 10:27 AM) Hmm, alright, I'll check it out, thanks. |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jul 11 2011, 01:45 PM) Err... we only recommend laptops based on your budget? Alright, any other options other than Asus? Also, any recommendation of anything a little lighter?Iirc, your budget is RM2k right? U series is around RM2.8k, whereas UL series is no longer available here in Malaysia Added on July 11, 2011, 1:47 pm My vote goes to Asus as well because of the standard 2 years international warranty Either Asus A42Jz, P6200 + AMD HD6470@RM1599[2.2kg] Asus K43U, AMD E-350 + AMD HD6310@RM1399[2.6kg], W7S, [6-cell 5200mAH] will do *Do take note that in other countries, they're A series = K series vice versa |
