QUOTE(azoct @ May 31 2011, 12:09 AM) oic. ok2.. I think the size is personal preferenceanother question, which is better, buying a netbook or notebook? with the rm 1- 1.5k budget, any brands, working and basic gaming usage. went to shop again today, another promoter told me better to take a53sv rather than n53sv as keyboard not good + B&0 not really great. Save few hundred some more. What do you guys think?

QUOTE(azoct @ May 31 2011, 12:09 AM) oic. ok2.. Well, if portability is not an issue here, of course larger ones would be better hehe~another question, which is better, buying a netbook or notebook? with the rm 1- 1.5k budget, any brands, working and basic gaming usage. Though for these larger ones you can still stick to AMD Zacate, or you could opt for Intel's better CPUs at the expense of GPU power.... So its up to you to decide in the end, whether work or play is more important Added on May 31, 2011, 8:07 am QUOTE(chahupping @ May 31 2011, 12:18 AM) WEI numbers are inaccurate and shouldn't be used for comparison purposes Added on May 31, 2011, 8:14 am QUOTE(crazeemunky @ May 31 2011, 12:37 AM) If your old folks are not travelling alot, perhaps getting a larger screen would be better for the eyes, but that means sacrificing battery life. This 15" will probably just sit there all day long so battery life is rarely a problem hehe: Asus K53U, AMD E-350 + AMD HD6310@RM1199, FreeDOS, [6-cell 5200mAH] Dell Inspiron 15R, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1999 Dell Vostro 1015, T6670 + Intel GMA x4500@RM1579 Dell Vostro 3550, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM2099 Normally the Asus would be enough for regular tasks, but since it comes with FreeDOS, installing everything would be a problem haha I think if its possible, go for either the Inspiron 15R/ Vostro 3550 and fork out some more money to extend the warranty. Repairing laptops can be a real nightmare if old folks need to send them laptops in themselves, that's where Dell's in-home warranty would become most useful If budget is a problem, then go for the Vostro 1015, and then extend the warranty. Its not very powerful and quite outdated, but the warranty is more important I would say.... If you're planning to buy a Dell, do pay viper88 a visit, he gives discounts Added on May 31, 2011, 8:16 am QUOTE(adibyusoff @ May 31 2011, 02:02 AM) went to shop again today, another promoter told me better to take a53sv rather than n53sv as keyboard not good + B&0 not really great. Save few hundred some more. What do you guys think? Hmmm, the thing is that he is only making the comparisons based on perceivable stuffs e.g. keyboard and speakers. Who knows whether the internal components of the A series are better than N series or not? Only reviews can tell... I've heard salesperson saying Acer is from Italy man, what do you think? What do you guys think? since both model have different keyboard, it all comes down to your personal preferences.maybe can test both first, see which one that you like? and B&O even though not really great, still an above average speaker |
