I agree sweat.gif The price is like something way out of my league for the time being
U260 looks daaaaaaaaaaamn fine, but no SB processor and no USB 3.0.
Major upgrades are... not present
*
U260 is expensive merely because of the 12.5" profile...
Runs on ULV, nothing spectacular apart from the keyboard and the design...
Even the battery life is a disappointment (apart from the 3k price tag) haha

boss, i did some gugeling. Found out there were 2 near same but different model.

N43SL and N53SV.

What's the differences and which one should i choose eh? Price is same nia. rclxub.gif

btw, can this one play starcraft2 smoothly?  drool.gif  hehehe.

Terima kasih bossssss. smile.gif

There are 2 versions of N53Sv, but I think you're referring to the one with i5-2410M...
The only differences are the size, keypad availability (on the N53Sv), USB3.0 (on the N43SL iinm)...
So it depends on whether you want a larger screen size, or portability laugh.gif

HI, needs recommendation here. Sifu's are most welcomed.  rclxms.gif biggrin.gif

1. Brand: Asus or Dell
2. Budget: Around RM3300
3. Spec: For gaming purposes(games such as Black Ops, L4D, WoW)
4. Size: 14 or 15.6 inches(but i prefer 15.6" as it has better cooling)

Well, if could, please give a link to the recommended notebook as it convince me more on the notebook. I mean review on gaming or else that is going to be useful. Thanks a lot in advance biggrin.gif
*
These 2 would be the best in terms of gaming performance:
Asus (2 years free international warranty)
N53Sn, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT550M@RM3299 [Bang & Olufsen] (EOL-ed) [if you can find]

HP
DV6-6001TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770@RM3699 [Beats], Beats headphones; RM3199 without Beats headphones

For Dell, the XPS 15 can be considered as well, but the GPU is no match for the ones above...

I think 15.6 is very puas hati lah. You think?

Btw, starcraft 2 can run smoothly on N53SV kah?  flex.gif
*
Yeap, Starcraft2 will run smoothly (depending on configurations) nod.gif
15.6" are quite large, so if you're moving about alot, don't buy it lol...
I used to own a 2.7kg 15.6" Qosmio F60 as well, regretted and sold it off because of the size laugh.gif
For me, definitely the N43SL laugh.gif

it says they both weight the same 2.4 kg with battery.

Arghhhhhh. So hard to choose which one to buy. If my uncle is tony fernandes, i would definitely buy both.  doh.gif
*
Do take note that weight is usually not a problem for us guys, its the size... being big and chunky, its very easy to accidentally knock the laptop and butthurt nod.gif

Asus web says that both N43SL and N53SV have usb 3.0
N53SV have full hd. Noticeable difference with N43SL??

Hard to choose lah right now. Thinking of buying it this weekend. sad.gif
*
The N53Sv with USB3.0 and probably Full HD is a different model which costs RM3.2k...
The one you're referring to (RM2.5k) doesn't have those features iirc laugh.gif

Oh ya, since both laptops offer the same screen resolution (1366x768), I still prefer the 14" because of the DPI difference, images looks better..
But then its a personal preference laugh.gif

Well, I'm more into 14 inchers, so I might be a bit biased haha laugh.gif DPI thingy is based on personal preference, can't comment haha

What's the best bet these day for a laptop within 2K budget?
Prefer an all-arounder.

Unfortunately for that price range there's no "all rounder"
Its either better CPU or better GPU...
Or you can have both but the laptop doesn't have OS.... sad.gif

need some recommendation as switching from desktop to notebooks...
sweat.gif
I'd narrow down to two choice cuz I prefer AMD (ATi)graphic for games...

- which have better LCD screen..?
- which have better sound quality..?
- which of this is more solid in terms casing build..?
- AMD HD6750/HD6630 capable to switch between i5-2410M like Nvidia Optimus tech..?

Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2349, Free 2nd year warranty
Pavilion Dv4, i5-2410M + AMD HD6750@RM2899

many thanks for reply
tongue.gif

Performance-wise, Dv4 is better....
Iinm, there is GPU switching availability for the Inspiron 14R, not sure about the Dv4...
Can't comment on other aspects because I've never tried them before laugh.gif

And any recommendation from ASUS?

For 14" gaming machines:
Lenovo Y470, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT550M@RM2999[JBL]
HP Pavilion Dv4, i5-2410M + AMD HD6750@RM2899

These are more powerful in terms of graphic performances...
There are a couple of other laptops from other brands with the relatively weaker Nvidia GT540m (at cheaper price, of course) nod.gif
