1. Any brand
2. RM2,000 and below
3. Multi-Tasking, Portability, Battery Life, Mobility. Backlit Keyboard(If possible)
4. Below 13'

Hopefully a real cool design like VX3 Lamborghini smile.gif
Any special series like VX3 for Intro?
*
Might wanna wait for/look at Acer's TimelineX 3830Tg (no backlit though) hmm.gif
If not, then fJok3R's recommended Vostro 3350 smile.gif
Premium laptops will either be (i) too expensive for your budget (ii) too weak for your criteria sad.gif

help me review this 3 notebook i picked, all is 14"

Dell Vostro 3450, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2577, backlit keyboard
HP Pavilion G4, i5-2410M + AMD HD6470@RM2349
HP Pavilion Dv4, i5-2410M + AMD HD6750@RM2899
help me review/comment on this 3 model in terms of budget wise, performance, workmanship, reputation, battery life, outlook, lifespan, overall usage experience.

which 1 is good to buy? any model can fight these model? I know vostro well, but lack of info at the pavilion dv4 and g4. any sifu here?

Added on July 6, 2011, 4:17 pmbuy it for a family multimedia/multipurpose usage

Added on July 6, 2011, 4:32 pmi also looked at the
A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(2GB)@RM2599[2.44kg], [6-cell 5200mAH]
N43SL, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2699[2.4kg][Bang & Olufsen]

not so convincing.. looking for better workmanship, quality, durability
*
G4 is not as good as the other 2... so can omit it hehe smile.gif
Dv4 is better only if you're into gaming...
Overally, Vostro should be more user friendly albeit the slightly weaker GPU compared to the Dv4...
And yea, Asus N43SL is quite good also as an all rounder~ thumbup.gif

Here looking for recommendation! happy.gif Budget around rm1500~rm2000 (the cheaper then better ahaha)

Purpose of the laptop:
-Surfing internet
-Internet Chat (Webcam and Microphone is a must have! biggrin.gif)
-Watch DVD
-Office work

so it just a mobile pc for leisure, so nothing fancy on spec side, but would like some feature of...
+DVD drive (which im sure it should be default lol)
+portability and longer battery life
+good loud speaker
+sleek keyboard and touchpad (some clunky keys i used before are horrible lol!)

plus
+build in microphone

please do recommend three screensize (13", 14", 15") (not sure there dvd drive available for 13" tongue.gif)

thank you in advance! :]

Asus A43Sj, i3-2310M + Nvidia GT520M@RM2099[2.44kg], Colors:Red/Blue/Pink/Green/Gold/Black *comes with 2 years international warranty, but heard the touchpad is not good
Acer Aspire 4750, i5-2410M + Intel HD3000@RM1899[2.3kg] *Packs quite a punch for this kind of budget, keyboard is not that good (expensive if you want to extend warranty)
Lenovo G470, i5-2410M + Intel HD3000@RM1999 *packs quite a punch, ergonomic keyboard (expensive if you want to extend warranty)
Toshiba Satellite L745-1049U, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1799, 2nd & 3rd year warranty *Glossy, but offers a great keyboard and touchpad, poor speakers, 3 years warranty
Toshiba Satellite L745-1050X, i3-2310 + Nvidia GT525M@RM1999, 2nd & 3rd year warranty *Glossy, but offers a great keyboard and touchpad, poor speakers, 3 years warranty
HP Pavilion G4, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM1899, W7HB *W7HB only, speakers are loud

My vote goes to Toshiba smile.gif

Oh right, sorry. I was thinking the Asus U41SV. Usage mostly for university work so I need something light and with a good battery life. Screen about 14 inch so it's just big enough for me to read notes from. Though with a bit of gaming capabilities for when I'm on the go. I'll be getting a new desktop PC for the more high end gaming so that part isn't really a huge issue.
*
Asus U41Sv would be good enough~
Other alternatives would be Asus A43Sv, Asus N43Sl, Asus U31Sd and Acer TimelineX 4830Tg

price almost the same.. which one better? Asus a43sv-vx073v or Acer timeline X 4830tg?

I gonna use for graphic extensive work and processing. cannot go for desktop coz move around much n budget not more than 3000.
*
Acer TimelineX 4830Tg offers long battery life and lighter weight; but the battery is integrated
Asus A43Sv has a non-integrated battery and comes with 2 years international warranty, but its heavier and comparatively bulkier

thanks for the fast answer. integrated means battery cannot come off? long battery life is a plus but how about build quality?
*
Yeap, cannot take out the battery sad.gif
As for built quality, both are good, though personally I think the A43Sv is slightly more sturdy since its not as thin as the Acer laugh.gif

Alright, so for now i'm deciding between the Asus U41SV and Acer 4830TG. I'm fine with the integrated battery thing. It's a bit hard for me to find specs for the Acer laptop though, does anyone know it's full spec and perhaps a reliable review?

Also, as an added note, I'm heading to the UK in a month so i'll need one with good international warranty! And, as usual, i'm open to any more recommendations smile.gif
*
This is the place to go for 4830Tg associated stuffs: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1806729
You can extend international warranty for your Acer, but then its going to cost alot haha~

Getting an Asus will be better since most of them come with 2 years international warranty

Any recommendation for 14" notebook? No brand preference, budget 3k+ and spec would be highest on price/performance ratio. Wanted to run VM sometimes, not much gaming but i do hope can still play Diablo3 when it's out tongue.gif
*
This would be the best 14" at the moment:
Lenovo Y470, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT550M@RM2999[JBL]

Followed by:
Asus A43Sv, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT540M@RM2999[2.44kg]
HP Pavilion Dv4, i5-2410M + AMD HD6750@RM2899

For a 15.6 incher,
pretty much this one: HP DV6-6114TX, i7-2630QM + AMD HD6770 + BluRay@RM3699 [Beats][2.63kg], Beats headphones; RM3199 without Beats headphones rclxms.gif

Then can surf the web for continously?

It gets hot when on load, most laptops do....
Constant web surfing is not considered as "load" to a laptop nowadays haha smile.gif
