Since you're not into gaming, you can save money by choosing those with i5-2410M with no dedicated GPU

Get this: Lenovo G470, i5-2410M + Intel HD3000@RM1999; then use the remaining money to extend the warranty to 3 years

Option 2 (abit overkill, but still okay):
Get this: A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(1GB)@RM2399[2.44kg], [6-cell 4400mAH]
or this:
Acer Aspire 4750G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT 520@RM2199[2.3kg], 3 years local limited warranty
Dell Inspiron 14R, i3-2310M + AMD HD6470@RM2049, Free 2nd year warranty: expires 9 June
Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2249, Free 2nd year warranty: expires 9 June

If not, just try the large stores in LYP

V470 doesn't have a dedicated graphic card and is out of your budget. On the other hand, the G470 is quite good in terms of specs and warranty:

The Vostro is no weakling, its capable of doing all the things you said, with no sweat at all
If you're going for a 17" laptop, the Vostro is the cheapest around already

Even a cheap sub-RM1.5k laptop (AMD E-350) can play FullHD videos
No worries there haha~
You can always try playing on some of your friends' laptops if you're still not convinced

The 4830Tg suggested by fJok3R is a good choice~
Apart from that, you can consider Aspire 4750G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT 520@RM2199[2.3kg], 3 years local limited warranty; its gaming capabilties are not as good as that of the 480Tg, but then if your friend doesn't game, it doesn't make a difference haha The 3 years warranty will come in handy~
But for me I would still go for the 4830Tg, too poisonous haha

Don't have, unless you extend the warranty yourself. But that'll limit your purchase to poor performance netbooks...
Or you can consider this:
Toshiba Satellite C640-1023U, P6200 + Intel HD@RM1599, W7HP, 2nd & 3rd year warranty
But its a 14" though...
