bro, thanks for the advise... smile.gif
with original charger...it need about 4 hrs to fully charged... blink.gif
if using larger out ma adapter, will it damage the phone? sorry if it is noob question...thx...
*
Like ROM developer, I will say like this... Use at you own risk biggrin.gif

I've been using other charger for my Galaxies and it working fine. As long as the voltage is 5V (typical for USB type charger) it will be ok. The current (amp) will only helps to supply more juice to it so faster charging time.

Do not worry, the charging time will improve as it goes.

The slowest is still USB port on the computer thou.

+1

They have couple of weeks to clear off the stock, else it will burden for em unless the SME unit is a different spec.

*
Don't be confused with baseband version. It is modem / phone driver version actually. The firmware is under Build number section.

Wished I had that, KE1 being shown as latest in Kies.  sweat.gif
*
KE1 is the latest official now from Kies. Samsung pulled off KE2 from Kies due to problem with Orange telco in UK. Use Odin if you wanted to upgrade to KE2.

yes i know how to root and upgrade, but for the same ke2 fw, there are 3 choices and they are for 3 different regions.
*
If you did not know which one to choose, just follow your original phone region code.

uncle i mean this Rooting an Android phone opens its core functions that aren’t available when you buy it. One of the major benefits is the ability to install apps to the SD card, which saves space on the device.

u not installing apps on ur sd card?
*
I think you got a wrong info here.

Since Froyo, the ability to install app into sd card is there. Root is required for Eclair (2.1 and below).

Now, back to SGS. Since SGS1, the phone has 2GB space just to install apps. And some apps especially games are smart enough for not clogging all the space with their data. It will move additional data (music, video, textures etc.) needed for the game to next available storage mount which is sd card.

Phone which are limited ROM (for most midrange phone and last year flagship model) which only has 512MB ROM (availability is less than that) requires this functionality.

Most phone in the market has 512MB / 1GB + external sd card. SGS has 2GB + 11GB internal + external (depends on the sd card size).

IMHO, all SGS owners (SGS 1 and 2) did not even bother about move to sd card feature.

Hint: If you look on the first page of both official SGS1 and SGS2 threads. There is no info about this functions, so not needed smile.gif

so if data is enabled, agps is by default used or must set something?
*
AGPS will assist the GPS hardware in finding the satellites. It is small data and the validity is about 6 days. When expired, it will request again.

talking about rooting -- anyone here knows where in KL we could get the 'jig' that resets the binary counter back to zero? Think it might come in handy if we need to send the phone for warranty claims..

won't this cause void of warranty? and what if done wrong, will it damage the phone? scared later can't claim... sweat.gif

According to Samsung Policy, yes (enforcement, not sure). But you can unroot it unless you phone has a broken display or cannot switch on.

how the user can change it back to jpeg?
*
In Android you can save it as JPEG, press Menu.

QUOTE(Assclown @ May 25 2011, 07:22 PM)
just read that it does not have a notification LED. It does concern me as I will have to keep waking up my phone to check if there's a miss call or SMS in case i left it for awhile.
*
You can use....

1. LED substitute like noled app which will throw icons on your display for notification.
2. Reminder software which will repeatedly vibrate and / or sound notification.
3. BLN, use the menu and back key light. This one not yet available on SGS2 atm coz need kernel hacking.
