read benny's link for root. so rooting is like making you to be a superuser access rights, right? not really changes the content of your phone memory

It's not there in Samsung stock keypad, however it's available in Swype but it's  hidden that most people didnt know how to access.

If you are using Swype, do a quick horizontal line swipe from left to right over the "SYM" button. That will reveal another "hidden" page that contain the arrow cursor (and some other function like Home, Cut, Copy, Paste, Pg Up, Pg Down, etc) for you to navigate around.

If you are using Samsung keypad, you have to retouch the the screen to place the cursor to the exact spot that you want it to be.

thanks bro. it works

its mean the dark colour are more saturated.. thus giving a wonderful colour variation...
if u have see htc n iphone, the colour are more whiter
but in SGS the colour more to dark variation which is in my own term inkier..  smile.gif

inkier=more saturation of colour

in other words, better than w/o it? btw, i bought twice the clear screen ones and try to install myself. both got dust trap, causing bubbles that cannot be removed (if you try to remove, makes thing worse)

this one how? also need very skillful hands to make sure no bubbles or easy?

thumbs up (btw, you got some many trophies in your house. badminton?)

P.S. Have to travel to Batu Caves though sad.gif

btw, i use sgs2 gps to go there. i still have locking issue (need a few min) but once lock, i am super impressed on the accuracy of the "triangle". The "triangle" movement really smooth like it is following me every meter smile.gif

Hi bro,

Just now was testing the gps again. These are the settings

Start type : Cold start
Location : Balcony with good view outside
SKy : Open sky, not cloudy

Result : GPS locking with gps test about 2min

Well this is better than yesterday but i can't get the 30 sec locking as reported by others also without AGPS

Any suggestion?

####

btw, i heard AGPS can request via sms? any idea? if can, how to do it?

####

I have another problem. when trying to send a mms (not sms), i receive this message

"Currently unable to send your message. It will be sent when the service becomes available"

so far my previous phone no issue. any special settings i need to check?

no u dont need too..better try at road..you try at building right?
*
Yes, i am at the building's balcony but full clear view of the sky

Thanks for the hint. i will try that

But i don't understand 1 thing. if you look at my picture on pg 103, i have very strong gps signal in view. with strong signals, why i can't get the locking fast? if signal is not strong i can understand lah

btw, hot start is definitely fast (< 10 secs)

Settings/Wireless & Network/Mobile networks/ : Tick and select Use Packet Data

I noticed you are still " struggling" with your GPS. As I have said before, no need to do all those stuffs like activating quicker GPS using those GPS fixes or trying to activate AGS. AGS mode is actually auto done in background. Some guys will tell you that manually activate AGS is better etc etc. I have been using Androids, so many of them I never need to do such stuffs. I just launch the GPS app ( Papago X5 or Sygic Aura ) - the phone will auto detect and lockup the locations. Seriously if you still having issues, do send back to claim
Once again I'd say the GPS lockup in the SGS II is superb - 2-3 seconds for Aura, 3-5 sec for Papago X5 and Google maps. I was on my way to Rawang from Batu Pahat yesterday and in and out of car, my GPS lockup still within few seconds at various stops.

Hi benny,

that is what i am trying to find out. is it my hardware issue or somehow during playing with phone, i screw up something

i am just trying to do experiment and finding out to ensure that it is really my phone issue before i send it back

tried something else on the gps (based on varoius feedback)

Data : Activated (b4 that, i deactivate the data. found out when i cannot send mms)
Location : Middle of a road
Sky : Clear sky
Start type : Cold

Results : Manage to get lock within 30 secs

If this is really true and can be repeated, i think the opening up of data is helping here

will do more test to find out
