Hi guyz, I wanted to know if anyone have actually try purchasing ICE products, cables or sound proofing items from eBay(US) before.. Some of the items seems to be cheap, so have any 1 experiences purchasing it online? Mine sharing your experience...

Is there any difference between products sold in different region's, ex component sets, amps, crossover, pre amp voltage wise or any other stuffs? How bout customs, wat r the chances of being taxed n how much will it be (Percentage of wise based on the purchased item price)..

all big items like amps, headunit and speakers will 100% kena tahan by the immigration pending u bring ur sales invoice (paypal receipt) to show that the value is below RM500. Anything above that, prepare to pay 30% tax for it. asking them to declare as 'gift' will not work and some ang moh wont do it either.

so far so good for me. One of the bad thing is that when i use USPS, tracking will go only so far till reaches malaysia custom. It will auto switch to domestic post ie postlaju so u cant track further. Can only wait for the parcel to arrive (estimate around 5 days once it reaches custom) or wait for the immigration notice. As ur near sg, i highly suggest u to use sg address if u have one or buy straight in sg. Much cheaper but without warranty.

that's the thing u see.. but last time my old car i was using Alpine 9833, bought from sim lim tower in sg. only have the shop warranty but much much cheaper - after convert to RM is about RM1,200 only as compared to the retail price of RM2.5K plus here in msia. having been using it for almost 7 years until i let go of the car and still in good working condition.

but u did warn me last time against buying things there... any reasons why?

amjb76: i have heard of shops selling fake stuff there. So instead of 'trying ur luck', might as well buy new locally or 2nd hand stuff.

all blacks: its quite convenient to buy from ebay as long u deal with reputable seller that is willing to ship overseas. I normally target high value item selling cheap there.. some of the stuff i bought are like dls amp, phoenix gold eq and some old school US made amplifiers.

always collect at post malaysia immigration side... i think for kl side is the post office near klia. ETA is around 2 weeks from US. then another 3-4 days to wait for the item to delivered to ur house or immigration notice to arrive.

Ice price in asia had dropped quite a lot compare to last time. My advice is get from local store and spend a little to buy an insurance for ur investment unless the difference are more than 50%.

From wat i had researched, foreign country like to sell the recond/rejected item at a lot cheaper price in some online store which claim it's new. They might be rejected by just some misaligned logo, connector or something else. This we wont know..

Buy smart is the key.
