Don't lose your passion just because it's harder to get in. You were so motivated back then, what makes you de-motivated? Anyways, don't give yourself a backup plan so early. Do your best for your STPM, only when your result out, should you consider alternatives. If you consider alternatives now, it will only hinder your study progress.
