I just bought an Ipad 2 this morning from machines lot 10..after that bought a Mocran Book Case for Ipad 2 from there as well...the sales girl said the Mocran book case got smart cover function de, but now i put not functioning also...i close the cover my ipad 2 is still on geh...i tried to call machines but no one pick up...called other outlets also no one pick up the phone...damn...i dont want to go back to lot 10 la, tired leh...

the website say can configure smart cover at settings...but my ipad 2 dont have the option pun....

you mean you don't see "cover on lock / unlock" function under setting -> general ??

Did you turn on iPad cover lock/unlock setting?
By the way i think it should be turned on by default.

My cheap brandless case also can act as smart cover, I don't see why yours cannot.

Those brand-less third party case will caused the ipad2 turning off once its cover fold to the back.
Some even keep turn on and off if you don't hold it firm.
Please test before buy ........

Went to machines and check..it seems that the sth wrong with the case..Gao Dim with Machines. very good customer service, give them 10 stars. Forgive them for not answering because they were very busy, weekend mah.
